I woke up at 3 this morning to the computer UPS chirping and an otherwise dark house. The power had gone off. Fortunately I have a battery-powered alarm clock so I still made it up in time for work. I have been meaning for a couple of days to take some pictures while the yard is pretty out. Today I managed.

We have a mouse living under the oven. Doggone it, I *DON't* want to get another cat!

I managed to get a couple of good pictures while it was snowing. (Yeah, I took a snowflake break. So?) Of course the sun's out now but still, it was pretty while it lasted.

Since I'm working from home today I've been sitting at my desk all morning. It has finally dawned on me why I can see the neighbor's house across the street so much better and why there's no squirrels running back and forth along the false wall. Having said that my workplace is moving into this brave new century, it seems that was too much commitment. The "working from home" option that most people have chosen has been put "on hold" for a couple of weeks. We'll see if it ever comes off of hold ( Read more... )

This is a Plumbing Alert! We are once again experiencing a Sewer Malfunction. All hands, prepare to bail.

Loudoun Water has been called. Towels have been deployed. Damage is (so far) confined to utility closet in the basement.
