Today started out pretty well. Mama got her shot, scruffycritter got to his bridge game and Mama, Aunt E. and I all went to Bandon. Today has been low-key. Mama decided she didn't want to go to church this morning because of the weather so she and I stayed home, got out the old hymnal and sang some of the old hymns that nobody sings any more that we like. Over the last couple of days I've been doing a couple of little things to my mother's and aunt's computers: resetting forgotten passwords to allow email to download, convincing browsers to work and anti virus software to update, etc. Today I helped my aunt buy four bottles of Waterman fountain pen ink online and look at some pictures on a CD ( Read more... )

We had a lovely day yesterday even including the snow-rain mix and the hail that seems to have swept through at one point. We went to my cousin M's house and partook of ham and all the trimmings, trying not to explode when the lovely desserts were served. We made it to Oregon on Monday after much less ado at the Hertz counter than expected. After that, it was a trip filled with adventure:

scruffycritter and I spent the day at the San Francisco International Airport. Not because we had any special burning desire to be there, but because that's where our trip to Oregon turned into a complete debacle with no warning.

The Good News: We made it to San Francisco without incident.

The Bad News: The flight from SF to North Bend was canceled.
