Bean Lanterns (or "Anyone Remember the proposed BLACKEST NIGHT 'Drinking' Game?")

So a couple weeks ago, the great stubbleupdate proposed a "drinking" game for THE BLACKEST NIGHT. He used Smarties, which would be a damn well perfect choice except that they're not commonly available in the US. So what to do, I asked? What to do? Stubble then suggested Jelly Belly jelly beans. And it went on from there

I had a long post addressing your ending joke in a serious fashion, but remembered most people generally don't see the humor in doing that.

Thanks for the updated Sinestro Corps poster -- I hadn't seen it yet. Assuming it's not just a case of an artist working with an outdated roster, it seems the Zamarons' brainwashing isn't always effective.

Yeah, that's the risk I run trying to make a last-minute smart-ass post ending without really thinking things through.

But hey, glad I could inadvertently help! It, along with all the others, was in the free GL issue for Free Comic Book Day. I guess we'll have to wait and see how it all fits in...

For an alcoholic drinking game, you could always get a giant bottle of vodka and mix a shot accordingly, like a Screwdriver for orange, a Black Russian for black, and I guess just get a bunch of different juices or sodas for the others (if you use cranberry juice for red, you'll be just as likely to vomit as a red lantern!).

If Hal ends up going White, well that just brings in my specialty (if he goes black before going white then that's even better for the analogy!).

And seriously, anyone thinking of seriously making a drinking game out of this will be even bigger fools than my friends who made a drinking game out of BRAVEHEART: "Drink for fire." No wonder he literally ended up in the hospital from alcohol poisoning.

Oh I wouldn't, I'm just toying with the idea.
It might be safer (and a lot funnier) if instead of taking a shot for each lantern, you take a shot per page and just throw in each ingredient for whatever lanterns show on that page.

But that's still be 24-32 shots of vodka in the half-hour it takes to read the comic. Yeah, I can't see this ending well.
