Bean Lanterns (or "Anyone Remember the proposed BLACKEST NIGHT 'Drinking' Game?")

So a couple weeks ago, the great stubbleupdate proposed a "drinking" game for THE BLACKEST NIGHT. He used Smarties, which would be a damn well perfect choice except that they're not commonly available in the US. So what to do, I asked? What to do? Stubble then suggested Jelly Belly jelly beans. And it went on from there

For an alcoholic drinking game, you could always get a giant bottle of vodka and mix a shot accordingly, like a Screwdriver for orange, a Black Russian for black, and I guess just get a bunch of different juices or sodas for the others (if you use cranberry juice for red, you'll be just as likely to vomit as a red lantern!).

If Hal ends up going White, well that just brings in my specialty (if he goes black before going white then that's even better for the analogy!).

But... but if he goes Black, then he'll never go back!

And seriously, anyone thinking of seriously making a drinking game out of this will be even bigger fools than my friends who made a drinking game out of BRAVEHEART: "Drink for fire." No wonder he literally ended up in the hospital from alcohol poisoning.

Oh I wouldn't, I'm just toying with the idea.
It might be safer (and a lot funnier) if instead of taking a shot for each lantern, you take a shot per page and just throw in each ingredient for whatever lanterns show on that page.

But that's still be 24-32 shots of vodka in the half-hour it takes to read the comic. Yeah, I can't see this ending well.

At least you're thinking vodka rather than schnapps, like some have proposed! Egad, all that Sour Apple Pucker would turn me off GL for life!

Well, vodka or bourbon are my regular go-tos for liquor, and the great thing bout vodka is it can serve as a base for almost any kind of mix you want, which'd turn out a lot cheaper than seven bottles of schnapps.

One night, back when I was in college, we turned "Muppets Tonight!" into a drinking game.

1.) Pick a color
2.) When a Muppet with that color nose shows up, drink.

One guy cut to the chase and chose "noses." (Which I guess doesn't mean always as there are a fair amount of noseless Muppets.) Now, it wasn't anywhere near "alcohol poisoning" levels, but he was far drunker than the rest of us.
