In which I am bereft

Jan 27, 2008 17:05

Woe! meresy has gone home after a whirlwind weekend of low-key fangirl fun! Poor meresy. Every time we hang out I'm sleepy and distracted, and so I fear the weekend was a bit dull. However! We went to the infamous Indian Buffet for dinner (no, omphale23 and ignazwisdom, scarfe was not allowed any Everclear) and then we didn't leave the warm seclusion of Casa De Nos for the rest of the ( Read more... )

1. I agree with you on the the chicken and pineapple portions or your pizza argument at least.
2. Did you figure out how meres managed to make it through life without seeing Say Anything?
3. And yes! Write this Say Anything/due South AU. It's perfect.
4. I love Daniel Craig, especially as Bond, so much! And yes, CKR should totally be cast as Bond's brother. That should be the plot of Bond 23 (which will have a much better title than Quantum of Solace).
5. *terrified by your Wilby story*

2. Thing is? I haven't actually seen most movies. Of any kind.

In conclusion: I am a weirdo.

Go watch movies! Movies are great!

C'mon. They gotta have Netflix in Canada. There is no excuse!

There is no Netflix in Canada, I'm sorry to say. *shrug*

Fear us.

I do. I really, really do.

But you know? The Say Anything story might be just the ticket for winning us all back after you post that Wilby story. Think about it.

Your pizza is still frightening.

I think it might be!

And my pizza is very friendly! Newbie would eat it with me!

Newbie is probably not the foremost expert on haute cuisine. He brings expired bread to parties, Nos.

But you know. Whatever floats your dinghy.

Newbie has EXCELLENT taste! *stands in solidarity*

Was it prebiotic expired bread? Because I think that makes a difference.

I, too, am bereft of fangirls.

*clings*

It is a sad, sad state of affairs, nos. *shakes head woefully*

*fears your WW story*

Who did you kill/maim/de-limb this time? It was Duck, wasn't it? *points pointy finger of accusation at you* Bad fangirl, bad!

I know, Kitten! It sucks! *clings to fangirls*

I may have done something really, really terrible to Duck. It hurt, Cat! But I did it anyway.

To Duck? You did something awful to DUCK? *huge eyes of woe*

i LURVE pineapple and chicken on pizza *nods* but peppers and olives? yah im sorry. nuh-uh. is bad.

hold on... Callum's barely IN bsg s2! wtf u watching it for? *g*

and Say Anything is GOLD. High Fidelity, Gross Pointe Blank, et al - Cusack is wonderful in romcoms. hes lovely :)

and Casino Royale... GREAT opening chase scene! Craig did a perfect job revitalizing the franchise and making it cool and dangerous again. i think if Callum played that part he wouldve been more... bratty. and smoked more *g* not that i would complain at all!

the next Bond movie will star Callum and have a very intense golf finale instead of poker. *g*

AND: lets see this WW story!!!!!! *bounces up and down*

Why is no one with me on olives and peppers? FOOD OF THE GODS, people!

I know, I know. Our Callum-quotient of the weekend was shamefully low. I suspect we fail as true fangirls.

I like your version of the next Bond film very much! Yes yes!

and it would co-star Hugh as Callum's witty and clever caddy sidekick, and there would be a humourous bit during a round where Hugh has no clue about the differences between an iron or wood or putter or wedge and this noobness causes him to almost be outted by the bad guys. or something. *nods*

I'm with you on all the pizza toppings except the olives (a taste I haven't bothered to acquire).

Saw Say Anything for the first time about 5 years ago, and was utterly perplexed by the father subplot. Like, I was expecting pure teen romance, so it just made me go o.O (Btw, have you listened to the commentary? It is awesome! Made me laugh and laugh.) ... Aaaaand I just spent waaay too long looking for and failing to find a DS/Say Anything fusion I read once (it was just notes, I think), that included the line: "I gave him my heart, he gave me..." [looks at whalebone sextant] "I don't know what this is."

Daniel Craig creeps me out in CR, hence I refuse to acknowledge any resemblance with CKR except for their colouring. *stick fingers in ears* La la la la la...

I guess the olives really aren't for everyone. But I do recommend them for a day when you're feeling brave!

Yes, the father subplot does add an extra wrinkle to the movie. It's odd because that conversation/fight they have near the end seems to suggest that the movie is really about that relationship, and the romance is a parallel plot, or maybe even a B plot. I guess the film is really focused on that transition of affection/trust/love from your parent to your spouse/partner/lover.

"I gave him my heart, he gave me..." [looks at whalebone sextant] "I don't know what this is."

China, I think you have just given us the central fixture of the story. Wow.

I think Daniel Craig could easily be very, very creepy. Particularly in CR. But I find him to be too delicious!

Oh, I've tried olives a few times. I just don't like them and end up picking them off pizza after a few bites -- though I don't actually eat pizza anymore, woe.

China, I think you have just given us the central fixture of the story. Wow.

Hee! Well, I'm quoting someone and I don't know who, so perhaps some detective work is required for crediting purposes? :-)

That has GOT to make an appearance in this story. Note that I'm talking about it like it's definitely going to happen!
