In which I am bereft

Woe! meresy has gone home after a whirlwind weekend of low-key fangirl fun! Poor meresy. Every time we hang out I'm sleepy and distracted, and so I fear the weekend was a bit dull. However! We went to the infamous Indian Buffet for dinner (no, omphale23 and ignazwisdom, scarfe was not allowed any Everclear) and then we didn't leave the warm seclusion of Casa De Nos for the rest of the weekend, apart from a pizza pickup.

While we're on the subject of pizza, may I humbly suggest that there is absolutely nothing wrong with chicken, green olives, pineapple and/or green peppers on a pizza? I think it's a valid lifestyle choice, no matter what scarfe or meresy say. Ray Kowalski is my pizza hero!

On Saturday night we watched some season 2 Battlestar Gallactica episodes, and then I fulfilled my promise to dessert_first and made Meres watch Say Anything.
See, Dess and I have this theory, and it goes something like this: if you're going to rewrite due South as a romantic comedy about star-crossed teen lovers, well, does it get any more appropriate than Say Anything? Benton Fraser as the beautiful and gifted young man who is isolated from all of his peers, Ray Kowalski as a young kickboxer ("Sport of the future!") from the wrong side of the tracks who tries to win his heart? Add in some family complications, awkward moments of young romance, a narrative on class, and bang! Perfect!

At any rate, it's better than Fraser singing a George Michael song as his talent entry in a male beauty contest. Because that's the other big idea Dess and I were working on. Fear us.

I think meresy liked the flick. After that we watched Casino Royale because I like to drool over Daniel Craig while mentally recasting CKR as James Bond. (Craig and CKR could play brothers! It's spooky!) We supplemented all the movie-watching with much time online, including a lovely chat with Zabira. And I waited anxiously for beta responses to a new Wilby Wonderful story. Which, um, if it goes up? Might get me run out of fandom. I'll have to write about two thousand schmoopy Duck/Dan and Fraser/RayK romances to make up for it.

Anyway, that was my weekend. Back to the salt mines tomorrow. Hi ho!
