Just got back from seeing it. So, I'm not the best film reviewer but here goes. Pretty good, lots of very funny stuff. The music was terrific. Kevin was wonderful, my favorite character. Lots of things for all ages, there were lots of kids in the audience. There were different groups of laughter as the kids loved some stuff, adults other ( Read more... )

I thought the ending was a little unsatisfying too - not terrible, but ...I don't know, I really can't articulate it. Maybe because the beginning was so emotional (and relatively real) for me, how could you follow that up? They didn't show the Princess and the Frog trailer at my screening (perhaps because it was in 3-D, and the other trailers were 3-D too - I have seen it online though - not sure about the cropping, but probably couldn't tell on my tiny monitor). I have to say, the 3-D worked really well for me - I really felt like I was a million miles "Up", especially the ending crawling around on the airship. But it is a lot of money (it cost me $16 Canadian to see it in 3-D!).
I also loved the bird (she felt really wild and unpredictable in her movements and gestures) and Doug the dog (perfect voice, great design and animation, funny dialogue)v- was like they animated my sister-in-law's big dumb (but sweet) golden retriever.

The mannerisms of the dogs were terrific. The cowering, etc. Kevin was like Mary Poppins; practically perfect in every way.

The opening of the movie was like the opening of Wall*E. You just can't top it. But the rest of the movie was MUCH better than Wall*E. I'd place this one ahead of Cars and Wall*E, but closely behind the rest.

I hope you are enjoying Tim Horton's where you are, well, other than the IceCaps, cause, you knw, I'd have to tell your Bishop. The crullers . . . drool. Bring one back for me please, Noodlemommy and I will be down for the friends and family showing of PatF. We'll pick it up then.

Do you already know when the "f and f" screening of "p and the f" is going to be?? Or you're just clearing your calendar for whenever it happens? It would be great to see you then!

Since it opens Thanksgiving weekend in NY and LA, we were thinking the weekend before Thanksgiving. Nothing booked yet.

Ada baik! This has been a great week. I found the email for the daughter of my Bahasa Melayu teacher in Singapore. He is a wonderful man. I am so happy I got to pass along my greetings to him through her. His birthday is in a couple of weeks, so I'm trying to start an email campaign to get a lot of his ex-students to wish him a happy birthday.

How about you? You know Disney Boy is in Toronto for a while? He too is a wonderful man.
