Giving to Haiti.
www.foodforthepoor.org is the best I've found. In 2008 they had less than a scant 3% overhead, meaning that 97+ cents of every dollar you donate results in food in the hands of the people who need it. They have also had a food distribution network in Haiti for over a decade.

Just got this image. It is my great-grandmother. The picture was taken about 1885.
Her name was Mary Ann Hitchmough.

Great time at Paul and Sue's. Got the 9 hours between Seattle and Boise done with no issues, got into Boise by 7, and enjoyed the hotel here a lot. Got to the gym and the hot tub, then had a nice run along the riverbank this morning. Church and breakfast has been accomplished, just packing now and hope to get home by 4.

This is our last day in Campbell River. :( it was a great trip. We got out at 8, right on time and made it to Timmies before we boarded the ferry. The ferry ride was quite sedate, but no wireless. Braved the border, the Timmies just short of the border to pick up one last cruller and ice capp, got to Trader Joe’s and survived the freeway ( Read more... )

Today was mostly running around. First thing was running around a different part of the coast walking trail. Did just short of 4 miles with a 5 pound rock in each hand the whole way. In the morning we went to Starbucks to get an internet connection and update some stuff on my blog. Met some nice people there including a guy from York, a lady from CR and a guy who knew Patrick. Going to rerecord Aunt Maureen for some more time today. Listened to some of what we recorded yesterday and it sounds as though she is driving the little tractor that was working next door. More later!
