Today was mostly running around. First thing was running around a different part of the coast walking trail. Did just short of 4 miles with a 5 pound rock in each hand the whole way. The legs are catching up to the lungs. We found out that Annette and Rob were in already, and not at the end of the day tomorrow as planned. Turns out they were not heading for remote corners of Washington State as Annette had thought. Rob surprised her by arranging a trip to Hawaii for their anniversary. The kids stayed with friends in Washington. Awwwww.
Project tea: successful.
We visited with Aunt Maureen for a while, went to Annette’s to see them, went shopping for stuff to say “thank you” to R and J for letting us stay in their house, came home and slipped into the deliciously warm hot tub. Found out Aunt Maureen was in London when the first V2 came down in dubbya-dubbya deux. She said it scared people silly because the V1 you could hear coming in and could prepare.
The third time was not a charm. Made it into Timmies for an Iced Capp, cruller, and a sandwich for dinner. Was informed that Timmies is expanding into Seattle. They will take over the world, you know.
Note for those staying at R&Js. When the breaker for the water heaters is in the off position, you have enough hot water for 2 people for 3 days. Or Twirly for a fortnight. Terrible drought up here, watering of lawns is prohibited; landscaping only before 9 AM. No campfires.
There has to be a bald eagle nest close to R & J’s. Two nights in a row one has flown over the house heading in the same direction, within 40 feet of us in the hot tub. We’re thankful that it wasn’t nearsighted and mistook us for salmon being poached. This morning it few by again, with a fish this time. The fish wasn’t flying all by itself, the eagle has helping. Something akin to pixie dust I’m thinking. The fish didn’t seem to be too thrilled. It was, after all, something like a fish out of water.
Today will be cleaning up and going over to Annette and Robs for dinner, then an early start tomorrow to make it to Seattle before rush hour. Will update from the ferry.
