Taking the good with the bad...

I've come to a conclusion- and really- this isnt going to be any apocalyptic, earth-shattering news flash - more just the whole 'after four seasons - shaking my head in disgust' kinda thing... but my conclusion is this... while the one thing that is so utterly pheonomenal about Supernatural is its fans... alternately- its also its bane...

Yeah, exactly why I stopped posting reviews or commenting on them. Now, I could just stop reading them... I swear, every one I read makes me wanna say, "You're wrong, and here's why..." and really, who has time to do that? I know some people live for the internet discussion, but I have other things to do, and it just kills me that something so important to me is being torn to shreds by people who have no perspective other than they want to piss off some other fan or one up some other fan. They don't care about the show. They care about being the loudest and getting people to comment on their journals and posts. I just rather hate fandom at the moment.

yeah- its the reading them... kinda like looking at a car wreck isnt it.... you know its gonna be disgusting but you just have to look... same here... I know when i see those post they're just prolly gonna piss me off- but I end up reading them anyway- and sure enough- they do... I never seem to learn... but every once in a while I find a comment or a post ( kinda like yours) where someone surprises me and I have some glimmer of hope that there are others out there in the fandom that DO get it... and that DO appreciate the show and the underlying themes...
sighs... just gotta have faith that the vocal ones are NOT the majority- ... right?

Exactly why I don't give forums, reviews, and anything else that can make people bitch the time of day. I refuse to let anyone ruin this show for me because it really is the highlight of my week. If I can't get through the week, then at least I know I have Supernatural waiting for me every Thursday night.

It really has become stupid with the fandom and I just wish I could apologize to the boys and Kripke for their idiotic behavior. I swear, people are so damn stupid. Get the hell over it already.

Thank for your post, chick. It had to be said out loud especially after we were talking about it the other day.

*sighs*

yeah- I just kept stewing over it- kept reading more and more posts and kept getting more and more aggravated... ended up being the only other way to vent...
Like I just said to HT - I can only hope that the vocal ones arent the majority opinions.. maybe the sane people are just the ones smart enough to remain quiet and sit back and enjoy the show. Like you said- its my shelter - my refuge in what is otherwise generally a stormy week... and yes... I wish I could apologize to the people associated with Supernatural- Kripke, J&J, the writers, heck- even the freakin PA's and say... ignore these morons that just dont seem to have anything better to do than to pick apart what all the rest of us LOVE to pieces... we appreciate it...

BJXmas actually started a thread over on SN.tv where a lot us like minded folks who actually love the SHOW can chat about the episodes without all the other crap that goes along with it ( ... )

Yeah- I totally get what you're saying... I dont know why people seem soooo shocked when anyone with eyes and a brain- not to mention anyone who's ever read any sort of classic fiction- could tell from the start that this story had all the signs of the classic misunderstood hero- the protagonistic villian- even the dark redeem villian in the end (Sam)- good grief- its nearly Cain and Abel with a better ending.... yet- some of these goofs want to turn it into a teenage version of 90210 ( who's better looking Luke or Brandon) Not a blessed one of the people that start these bantering retarded threads can truly delve into the deeper mythos and really "see" Kripke's point. Its about ultimate sacrifice, ultimate love, brotherhod, family, and so much more. I kinda wonder if any of these infantile morons could or would possibly sacrifice one iota for a loved one remotely like Sam or Dean have? I dont think they could conceive giving up a Twinkie for their brother or sister if push came to shove- they're too stinking shallow... yep- ( ... )

Hey hun, just got round to read your entry. WOW. I haven't read the BuddyTv entry. Haven't read John in months. He always likes to put out one-sided comments just to see the fans have a go at each other. The last time (after the siren epi) I read him I got so annoyed by his biased way of commenting I stopped going there at all. They just loive to see fans slashin each others virtual throats and I am sure as hell not enabling their sick habit.

But I am sure there is still a lot of fans who don't forget about the real heart and soul of the show. Both brothers are dysfunctional without the other one. We know that.. It's absolutely not important who was more to blame. Both made their mistakes and even as a Deangirl I have to say I was pretty mad with Dean saying he was having a hard time forgiving Sam. But then again, I know the show and I just know they ll be together again in the end.

Thanks for sharing, hugs, Ilka
