That's remarkably polite.

So were it less a personal issue, you'd be more inclined to seek a specialist (or am I reading that incorrectly)?

...hunh. I would never even have considered that particular eventuality. Thank you for making me think about it.

On the one hand, Ishtar, as a syncretic goddess, has most of the bases I need covered taken care of. On the other hand, the Eater of Socks clearly exists, and must be propitiated.

He lives in all our laundry machines. *le sigh*

He is omnipresent and indwelling throughout the dryers and washing machines of all creation, for ever and ever - awwww man!

I've never come across a problem I didn't feel comfortable working with my Patron with.

I honestly don't know what I would do if I ever came upon an issue She couldn't/wasn't right to deal with.

Do you think this might be a possibility in the future?

My Goddess is pretty all encompassing. I'm not sure it's really an issue.

Confidence is good.

And, if I might ask--whence on earth comes your icon? I keep staring at it, thinking it's something I ought to recognise.

I'll ask my Matrons for help first, and if they can't, they'll recommend a deity who can. If that one can't help, then I'll risk the *glingleglingle* and hunt down a specialist.
Unfortunately, I don't have Hex, otherwise that might be easier. (My computer's name is Rose, my husband's computer is Tardis. They're nice and all, but they're not Hex)

Would you go for a specialist built from the ground up, or would you rather adapt an extant one?

It depends on what I need. Usually I'd prefer one built from the ground up, but if I find out about an existing one, I'll go with that.

I'm inclined to the Small Gods theory, and go looking for an already existing good aproximation.

Depending on how serious and personal it is, I'd ask a 'specialist' within my pantheon for things.
If it was really personal I'd ask my patrons, as I have done in the past.

Would you ever consider moving outside your particular pantheon?

Hmm. I'll say yes.
But I wouldn't simply because they are a 'specialist' in a field. I would only do so if I had started to make contact with them otherwise.
