Personally, I hold to what Anton Le Vey conveys in his expression 'do not waste compassion on ingrates'. For me, it does matter who is asking for help, and why...

There are some people that I would do everything in my power to help and then there are others that I wouldnt even spit on if they were on fire ;)

That's an interesting topic actually. I personally don't think I am obligated to help people, and if I do, I do so because I have made the choice that I want to, not because I feel it's part of the job description or because I may get something nice for me in return.

I don't follow the threefold law at all. My interpretation of karma is more about cause and effect rather than good or bad. Everybody who practices magick is aware of the consequences of their actions, but it is down to the practitioner to decide what is appropriate for them. Magick itself doesn't have a moral value, and different people have different morals, and I think it is inappropriate to have rules personally. Rather that we should trust that people will do what is right for them, and understand that we may not agree with them.

When it comes to magick I only do it for other people if they ask me. If I think that someone could benefit in a good way from me working magick for them but they haven't asked them I won't do it. Some people have problems with the idea ( ... )

I don't feel that I am under any obligation to help other people. If I choose to help someone, that's one thing, but I feel that being required to help people, especially people that I have no emotional ties to, is downright ridiculous. I don't believe that if you help someone you'll get some of your happy-shiny-white goodness back, and I also don't believe that if you don't help someone, then you'll get a karmic slap. In my experience, it just doesn't work that way ( ... )

I feel like my personal path includes improving the world, being one of the forces that helps to heal Her, which often translates into helping people.

I don't feel that being a witch, or a moral person generally obligates me to help anyone in particular at any time, or to right every wrong I see.

My spiritual path is a mix......since it's my own, I guess in fact it does deem me to help others. But, that could just be because I want to helps others.
