Ficspam Part II

*deep breath*

After working on this thing for about a week now, I don't believe that anything more can be done to it. So, fellow Sorkinettes, here is my post-administration CJ/Danny story.

Nothing beats Josh/Donna for best West Wing ship, but CJ/Danny is a close second. Oh, and I'm really really really glad that you liked it. *relieved laugh*

Aw, you know how much I enjoyed this. Really, my first foray into the world of TWW fan fic, and I couldn't be happier.

I just love Danny.

And I'm actually happy with what I wrote, which is rare because I can be picky.

Danny is one of my favorite characters, and he's definitely my favorite member of the White House Press Corps. Gotta love Fishboy! Speaking of which, do you have any idea when he's due back on the show?

I just watched Two Cathedrals, and if that's not inspiring, then I don't know what is. (Mrs Landingham: But if you don't want to run because you think it will be too hard or you'll lose, then God, Jed, I don't even want to know you.)

That episode is my all-time favourite - that conversation with Mrs Landingham with the wind and the storm and the amazing words, and the President's speech in the church. Do you know what he's saying when he speaks latin? (At least, I think it's latin)

Your fic, however, is brilliant! It's cute, it's funny and it's in character. I agree with fitzette - I just love Danny. And you got Gail into the fic!!! <3 One question: how long do goldfish live?

It is not a CJ/Danny fic without Gail. Besides, who needs hippogriff symbolism when you have goldfish symbolism?

Glad you liked my fic! Maybe I should take this as an incentive to start writing more...

Hey, Nochenne! this is great! I know this because: I don't watch this show, yet I completely understood and enjoyed your story. It needs no back story; the moment is complete in itself. CJ and Danny could be any coupe expecting their first child, whether we know them or not. I have one small, small suggestion. "Danny’s arms slid around her waist from behind, coming to rest on the roundness that was their daughter, growing within CJ." It sounds a bit awkward; try ending this sentance with the word within. otherwise, it's pretty durn awesome!

Thanks for your kind words, and I took your advice. It does sound better. :)

nothing to do with anything, but I found this icon and thought it fitting for this story.

Goldfish can actually live for a really long time if cared for well. I had two fantail goldfish for about a yeah, but then I moved them and they died. I'm only a little embarassed to tell you that the goldfish were named Ron and Hermione ( ... )

No kidding. I think the record is thirty-something years.

Wow, look at all that transcribing. You know what? Let's put you on a stamp. By the way, the Latin geek in me appreciates the translation muchly. I can speak fluent Spanish, but Latin is harder to get a hang of, especially in that scene. I can interpret what it means much better when it's written out, and the way Sorkin put it together is so poignant and moving.

I miss Sorkin.

Hear, hear. But Studio 60's coming up in the fall, so it won't be long before we get shiny, new, wonderful Sorkin writing! As far as West Wing writing goes, none of the current writers are close to his talent, but I do enjoy Debora Cahn's stuff.

Oh, darling. I simply google searched for the episode and then copied and pasted. You can still put me on a stamp though!

No, none of the WW writing staff comes close to Sorkin, but you're right, Debora Cahn has written some pretty good stuff. When John Wells writes, I know it's an episode that will certainly include something falling from the sky or some other such nonsense.

Studio 60 baby! Whoot!

Debora Cahn wrote The Cold, which is more than enough reason to like her. XD

I'm hearing that John Wells wrote the two Election Day eps, but I'm also hearing that they turn out pretty well... oh, please, let them be good, let them be good...

Studio 60, in the fall, with Brad Whitford and Tim Busfield, by Sorkin and Schlamme ... I must find Sports Night DVDs to tide me over, because I'm suffering from Sorkin withdrawal and haven't seen Sports Night yet...
