Luke elbowing Reid is one of my fave moments of theirs ever! So good. They both really gave it their all, despite the restrictions.

“It’s completely out of our control Van. We’ll just do the best we can with it.”

“And I’m supposed to still be afraid of being in a relationship when we clearly are in one. Did you see these last lines? How many times has Reid said he’s staying in Oakdale. How do I make that believable?”

“Let’s get started rehearsing this nonsense. Do you want to just run the lines or do you want to see where we can tweak these notes first.”

“Let’s just run the lines as is first so we can see where to fix things.”

First episode I watched of ATWT for ages when it aired - had taken a looooong break because Nuke had got so damn boring. But a kind friend tipped me off that there was a seriously sexy doctor around, so I started watching again. Saw this episode, then went back to the beginning of Reid's episodes and watched all of them - then watched this epi. again and though WTF just happened?!

This is probably my favorite episode, I've watched it a gazillion times. You can see that they are comfortable with each other & want to touch. Eric & Van knew how to do the scene properly but were obviously instructed not to. If Reid had been involved with Katie, they would have been holding hands, stealing kisses & she would have hugged him when she heard what Bob wanted. Van crosses his arms to keep from touching Eric. The next few weeks, Van always has his arms crossed in any scene he has with Eric. His innate nature as an actor was screaming @ him, "touch him, do something" but CG was probably on set screaming DONOT TOUCH HIM.

I hate what we lost, but so grateful to have this community where the boys are alive in our imaginations.

There are about a million things that we're going to hate in the next few rewatches and I remember how bummed everyone was with this episode. I was too because of the lack of ... everything we actually want to see. But I decided to look on the bright side of things and focus on the fact that this was the first episode where we heard nothing but the word relationship coming from them both in positive ways. We got to see it expressed in their expressions, their responses to one another, manhandling Reid out while Bob and Mona talked. Well, I don't know why I'm verbally describing everything because I have pictorial evidence in the form of past picspam!
