[Open to anyone wanting to check on Ukitake]

Nanao trudged back from the bus stop, worn out from her early morning shift at work. Her pocket was half full, which was yet another thing to go on her good list. She had learned her quick memory made her a favorite with the regulars at the cafe she worked at. She knew them all by name, and had their orders in as soon as they sat down. Most of the ( Read more... )

The noise of the door opening alerted Ukitake from where he was sitting at his desk, typing away at a laptop, and at first he kept quiet, suspicious of who it could be. But then he heard a voice (one that he'd heard before, but not enough to put a name to it) that was distinctly female, and he relaxed a little. The way the greeting was said let Ukitake know there was no immediate threat, and he pushed himself up and limped so he was in sight of the doorway, holding onto the doorjamb for support. "Oh, hello Nanao! Please come in!"

Nanao frowned slightly, then closed the door behind herself. "You shouldn't be up on that foot, Ukitake-san." She glanced around the room for a moment, dark eyes surveying the space. "Well. Go on. Sit back down." Quietly, she cleared her throat, not used to being so demanding. "I brought you some curry I made last night. I didn't think you needed to be up and about trying to cook anything."

Something about Nanao's tone of voice compelled Jyuushirou to do as he was told, and he shuffled over to the nearest place to sit and settled down. His ears perked a little at the mention of food, and he grinned. Ukitake would eat anything, it was true, but the prospect of curry was certainly tempting. "That's really kind of you Nanao! But you really don't have to use -san, you know."

A small smile crossed her face as she watched him sit down, then she bustled off into the kitchen to warm some of the leftovers. "I'm sorry... I'm just used to being polite. I was raised quite strictly."

Kisuke was quite the sight as he came down the stairs using a cane to help him walk with a pair of crutches being held under one arm. He had his bucket hat on as usual to keep himself semi-disguised. When he reached apartment 2 he knocked on the door politely.

A soft knock drew Nanao's attention away from the conversation, so she moved to answer the door. Blinking slightly, she moved back and allowed Urahara to come in, smiling when she saw the crutches.

"I'm guessing these are still needed?" Urahara said entering with the crutches. He really hadn't needed them since he had finished the physical therapy for his leg and Yoruichi had been bugging him to get rid of them for ages.

Sitting there, not being allowed to move was driving Ukitake a little stir crazy. He couldn't see the door, so he didn't know who was there, and he wasn't allowed to get up and see. Not fair at all. The 'I'm guessing these are still needed' didn't shed any light on the matter, they could have meant anything. "Hello?"
