[Open to anyone wanting to check on Ukitake]

Nanao trudged back from the bus stop, worn out from her early morning shift at work. Her pocket was half full, which was yet another thing to go on her good list. She had learned her quick memory made her a favorite with the regulars at the cafe she worked at. She knew them all by name, and had their orders in as soon as they sat down. Kisuke was quite the sight as he came down the stairs using a cane to help him walk with a pair of crutches being held under one arm. He had his bucket hat on as usual to keep himself semi-disguised. When he reached apartment 2 he knocked on the door politely.

A soft knock drew Nanao's attention away from the conversation, so she moved to answer the door. Blinking slightly, she moved back and allowed Urahara to come in, smiling when she saw the crutches.

"I'm guessing these are still needed?" Urahara said entering with the crutches. He really hadn't needed them since he had finished the physical therapy for his leg and Yoruichi had been bugging him to get rid of them for ages.

Sitting there, not being allowed to move was driving Ukitake a little stir crazy. He couldn't see the door, so he didn't know who was there, and he wasn't allowed to get up and see. Not fair at all. The 'I'm guessing these are still needed' didn't shed any light on the matter, they could have meant anything. "Hello?"

Nanao moved out of the way, allowing Urahara to come in if he wished, then moved to leave. "Well, it seems you get to be a bit more mobile now... if you need anything at all, please yell for me."

That did it, Ukitake got up anyway, and leaned heavily on the wall as he took a few steps forward to ease the pressure on his ankle. When he saw the landlord, he nearly said something in surprise. This had to be the fourth time he'd seen him in two whole years. "Um, thanks Nanao, if there's anything I can do to return your favour let me know..."

Oooh crutches.

Urahara entered the apartment with the crutches still under one arm but seeing Ukitate standing with a hurt leg he went over giving the crutches to him.

"You'll definitely be needing these."

Urahara knew how much it sucked to have a bad leg, well, he still knew but still, he was able to share sympathies.

Ukitake slipped his arms through and gripped the hand rests, then leaned forward to test his weight. "Thanks" he grinned, certainly pleased to be mobile again. "Nice to see you again."
