[Open to Rukia, Tatsuki, and Iruka... and anyone else who decides to drop by.]It had been a wise choice for her to call in sick yesterday for work today. It had also been wise to make sure she was prepared to last at least a few hours on her own in the morning before heading to bed with a sick feeling of dread in her stomach. Sure enough, she awoke ( Read more... )

Rukia had never really been to a pyjama party before. She had plenty of pyjamas -- flannel was so soft and cosy and the designs were addictive -- but the combination of pyjamas and other people being present was a rare thing. Unless you counted Byakuya of course, but he was far more likely to lecture her for not getting dressed at a reasonable hour than to suggest making popcorn and doing each other's hair ( ... )

A single answering groan came for Orihime's answer, and while the handle certainly turned just fine, the door didn’t open right away. This wasn’t because it was locked but because the door of #5 had the habit of getting stuck some times, although a quick shove with the shoulder usually jolted it open ( ... )

A shove got the door unstuck just as Orihime cried out for the second time. "That was two, should I call the ambulance or the undertakers?"

Arms barely containing the extra cushions she'd brought, Rukia padded through to find the invalid, bag of pills dangling from one outstretched finger. "What is it with people dying on me lately? Please stop, it's quite disconcerting." She couldn't help the wince of sympathy for the tight-curled figure taking up no room at all at the end of the bed. Yes, she knew how that felt, herself, although she had learned to suffer in silence in order to spare Byakuya's delicate sensibilities.

"Anyway I bring you medicine and distraction - if you find me distracting, that is. If not I could juggle." The cushions flopped onto the space at the end of the bed, girl soon following suit. "Would you like to see me juggle?"

"'mokay." Orihime mumbled out, though she still pulled her blankets over hear head after she took the painkillers from Rukia. A moment later her hand darted out to grab the water bottle next to the bed, and soon that also vanished under the covers.

"...I like juggling?" she asked after a moment from under the covers, hopefully. Let it never be said that she wasn't easily amused.

Yoruichi knocked at the door. As a possessor of two X chromosomes,it was fairly easy to figure out the cause of the feminine moans coming from apartment #5. "Orihime? It's Yoruichi from #14. Do you mind if I come in? I think I have something that'll help with the pain..."

"....I will show you just as soon as I learn." Oops, called on it. Rukia leant forward to peer under the rim of the blanket-cave, hopeful that the shy creature contained in it's depths might soon emerge. Yes, she understood it was painful, but conversing through a muffling layer of bedsheets meant she had started to raise her voice to compensate, and they would soon be getting complaints.

Like that one, maybe. She looked round at the knock at the door - a name she vaguely knew but not someone she was familiar with. Still. "Maybe she can juggle?"

Bright eyes peered back at Rukia under the cover of darkness the blanket offered, only to look to the door when the knock came. "...Maybe!" Orihime was determined to be cheerful. Another few minutes, and the painkillers would kick in, and everything would be okay.

It was only after a moment that she realised Orihime had missed out the part where she invited the woman in. It was an easy mistake to make, when more concerned with stomach cramps and circus skills.

"Come in!" Rukia called out, shifting up to make space on the bed, should the new arrival have brought her pyjamas, too. They had painkillers already, but extra supplies should never be turned down.

Yoruichi stepped in the apartment and gave as friendly and reassuring a smile as she could. After all,it wasn't like she knew either of them very well.
"I couldn't help but notice you aren't feeling well. I have heating pad that always helps me with stomach cramps. I thought it might work for you too. No one deserves that kind of pain." She held out the heating pad to the dark haired woman-Rukia,as she could see that Orihime was in no shape to go and get it herself.
