[Open to Rukia, Tatsuki, and Iruka... and anyone else who decides to drop by.]It had been a wise choice for her to call in sick yesterday for work today. It had also been wise to make sure she was prepared to last at least a few hours on her own in the morning before heading to bed with a sick feeling of dread in her stomach. Sure enough, she awoke ( Read more... )

"....I will show you just as soon as I learn." Oops, called on it. Rukia leant forward to peer under the rim of the blanket-cave, hopeful that the shy creature contained in it's depths might soon emerge. Yes, she understood it was painful, but conversing through a muffling layer of bedsheets meant she had started to raise her voice to compensate, and they would soon be getting complaints.

Like that one, maybe. She looked round at the knock at the door - a name she vaguely knew but not someone she was familiar with. Still. "Maybe she can juggle?"

Bright eyes peered back at Rukia under the cover of darkness the blanket offered, only to look to the door when the knock came. "...Maybe!" Orihime was determined to be cheerful. Another few minutes, and the painkillers would kick in, and everything would be okay.

It was only after a moment that she realised Orihime had missed out the part where she invited the woman in. It was an easy mistake to make, when more concerned with stomach cramps and circus skills.

"Come in!" Rukia called out, shifting up to make space on the bed, should the new arrival have brought her pyjamas, too. They had painkillers already, but extra supplies should never be turned down.

Yoruichi stepped in the apartment and gave as friendly and reassuring a smile as she could. After all,it wasn't like she knew either of them very well.
"I couldn't help but notice you aren't feeling well. I have heating pad that always helps me with stomach cramps. I thought it might work for you too. No one deserves that kind of pain." She held out the heating pad to the dark haired woman-Rukia,as she could see that Orihime was in no shape to go and get it herself.

"Oh now that's a great idea. I'll plug it in for you, okay Orihime?" Rukia took the heating pag, turning it over in her hands as her eyes darted between the new arrival and the wires trailing from the radio, following their wind down to the power socket. Standing, she offered an awkward handshake to Yoruichi, with no idea whether or not the woman was a friend of Orihime's. Then again, wasn't just about everyone a friend of hers?

"Rukia. I think we've been passing in hallways for a while now, but never said hello."

"Oh, hey!" now that she was able to see the new arrival, Orihime of course recognized her. "You're Miss Shih- ... I mean, Yoruichi." she said quietly as she peeked out from under her covers, just her eyes and the tips of her fingers showing.

"Like I said before, I'm Yoruichi. Shihouin Yoruichi. You live in #10 with your brother, right?" Yoruichi shook Rukia's hand back. She was feeling the slight awkwardness of the situation, but from what she had seen from Rukia so far, she seemed like the type who easily got over that sort of thing. She turned to Orihime. "I'd ask how you're feeling, but the answer's fairly obvious. Don't worry though. My heating pad has never failed any woman in need, and it's not about to start now."

"You're good." Rukia remarked, raising her eyebrows at how much Yoruichi seemed to know. Honestly, with the way everybody seemed to know each other around here already, Rukia was starting to wonder if her social skills were just a little bit ...lacking.

Kneeling down to plug the pad in and hand it under the covers to Orihime, she added, "You sound like you pass this thing around a lot. It is an interesting icebreaker."

Yoruichi had to grin at that. "I guess it is unusual, but it helps so much. And I use it when it gets really cold to heat the bed up."

Sakura knocked on the door; she had had the ridiculously early/late shift at work - her boss wanted to try being open all night for a while the dumbass - and she'd gotten the unlucky overnight shift.

Orihime had called in sick this mornign just as she was clocking out. Sakura had come home and gone to bed for a bit, then gotten up and went to go see her friend.

She hoped it wasn't too bad.

With the aid of the heating pad - accepted gratefully and tugged under the covers to press against her stomach - Orihime was feeling better by the second.

Moving still wasn't something she was too keen on, but at least she could uncurl her legs, which was good because she was starting to get a cramp in them.

Rukia seemed to be on door duty - and was wondering where Orihime's roommates were. Mr Umino seemed like the type who could be made use of as a doorman without too much protest. It was nice to see Hime having so many visitors, though - and something of a learning experience ( ... )

Yoruichi blinked as the pretty pink haired girl walked in through the door. "Menstruation soiree? Are you planning a party or something? If you are, alchol sounds like a fabulous idea. This time of month, you deserve a little buzz."

Ah, so it was that time of month.

"A party might not be so bad. Just be warned when I get mine, I tend to bite heads off." Sakura smiled at Yoruichi before sitting next to Orihime. "You okay, Ori-chan?"

Orihime waved at Sakura from under the blankets. "Not dead yet!" she managed to answer cheerfully. She was kind of thankful Rukia was there. As much as Orihime loved to play hostess, she was in no state to.

"Wow, alcohol at this time in the morning might be a little hardcore, I think." Rukia's eyes widened as she followed Sakura back into the room to hear that comment.

"Although drinking to the point that she feels no pain is a viable option, in this instance I would worry Orihime might wake up feeling worse than she does now." Rukia blinked over at the invalid in question. "Is that possible? Because if not then liquor may be the way to go."
