This afternoon headed to the cinema to see the encore performance of The Shakespeare Show. It was a variety show with skits based on the Bard! I loved every minute of it....it was sheer brilliant. Aside from the many Hamlets I also enjoyed the "Kiss me Kate" most. I ended up spending the rest of the evening on youtube, watching all kind of musical stuff - you know how one leads to the next. I ended with "Last Night of the Proms". Surely you know that? They show it in TV over here even. Where they always play those British songs and the audience waves flags and sings along. Simply awesome. There was a "Mary Poppins" sing-a-long and also one for "Sound of Music". They helpfully provided subtitles so I ended up singing along as well.

To be honest, I am not someone who notices the musical score much. There are people who recognize certain themes, but for me it is all just in the background. I can better appreciate music with lyrics that mean something.
