This afternoon headed to the cinema to see the encore performance of The Shakespeare Show. It was a variety show with skits based on the Bard! I loved every minute of it....it was sheer brilliant. Forgot to comment on this one... I'm so happy you finally got to see it! And on the big screen which surely is much better than at the computer screen. I loved this show!

Aside from the many Hamlets I also enjoyed the "Kiss me Kate" most. I ended up spending the rest of the evening on youtube, watching all kind of musical stuff - you know how one leads to the next. I ended with "Last Night of the Proms". Surely you know that? They show it in TV over here even. Where they always play those British songs and the audience waves flags and sings along. Simply awesome. There was a "Mary Poppins" sing-a-long and also one for "Sound of Music". They helpfully provided subtitles so I ended up singing along as well.

I have seen the Doctor Who proms when David Tennant still was the Doctor. I haven't really kept up with it with the other Doctors, only bits and pieces here and there.

To be honest, I am not someone who notices the musical score much. There are people who recognize certain themes, but for me it is all just in the background. I can better appreciate music with lyrics that mean something.

I'm 50/50 on whether I notice the score or not...it has to be really good and stand out or so ingrained in the character that I recognize when that character is on. My bff is huge into tv scores and I learn by osmosis lol!
