This afternoon headed to the cinema to see the encore performance of The Shakespeare Show. It was a variety show with skits based on the Bard! I loved every minute of it....it was sheer brilliant. Love the Bard!!! Shakespeare wrote 38 plays, 154 sonnets, & 2 narrative poems before his death at the age of 52. Many have speculated on his true identity with some speculating he may have even been female. My question to you is are you a Stratfordian or an Oxfordian or other?

Went back a second time to see one of Shakespeare's least known plays Coriolanus. Blogged about it here.Loved it just as much this time but realized that I understand the play better after the intermission than I do before it - I think it's because my ancient Roman politics is a little hazy.

It's time for more National Theatre Live....this time it's Hamlet simulcast by Cineplex movie theatre. About 3.5 hours of it! The play was held at the Barbican Theatre in London, UK. Finally finished watching BBC’s The Hollow Crown on DVD which I started late on Dec 31, 2014. The British TV series features Shakespeare’s history plays : Richard II, Henry IV Part 1 & II, Henry V. Saturday went to see Hamlet at UofT’s Hart House Theatre (review to follow at some point). After a very very stressful week it was so wonderful to be able to go to the theatre and loose oneself to The Bard.

The night was cool, a welcome respite from the heat and humidity of the past few weeks. The midnight sky twinkled as the goddess of the living fire map stretched over the many who’d come to watch Shakespeare’s The Tempest.
