The Royal Winnipeg Ballet put out a movie version of their long running production of Moulin Rouge. Saw it at Cineplex Theatres. Lovely French ballet set in the cabaret, pretty costumes, lively music and of course the Cancan performed ‘en pointe’ naturally! The story, like most stories, is one of love and loss. I wish they would do Orpheus in the Underworld as a ballet. The sets and costumes would be amazing. In fact I don't understand why the ballet world doesn't look to classical mythology for its sources since the myths can provide a wealth of material.
