I am about to have barbequed shrimp in a light chilli, lime and fresh coriander marinade with snapper caught this morning when I went out on the boat with Dad for lunch.

Life is good.

Mum and Dad are presumably on their way back from the 'tron, where they dropped Gran off, so she wouldn't have to drive over the plains before driving to Auckland. Gran phoned a couple of hours ago to say she arrived safely and was off to have a cup of tea with some friends, so I expect them shortly. maudlinrose and jessikast are also on their way over ( Read more... )

In Tauranga now, flew up after work. Flight relatively good, although delayed at the airport waiting for new luggage to be loaded. And I not only got confused by the new self checkin kiosks (I'm used to the old ones, okay?), but got complimented by the baggage watcher for putting it on the conveyer belt correctly (wheels at the back ( Read more... )

I have had a lazily productive day. Didn't manage to get to practice as I slept in instead. Am still quite tired, as I have been all week. Did manage to get lots of laundry done, vaccum, make foccacia bread to take out tonight and even do some study. Also booked my flight up for Christmas. My Granddad died today. Not unexpected; he recently turned 83 and at his last checkup the doctor said something was wrong with his heart, that the mini-strokes he's been having weren't really strokes but were heart related. As ever, I end up packing after 10pm the night before I leave. I think I have enough clothes, shoes and random bits and pieces that I might possibly want.
