I am so proud of Ethan! He’s gotten his first full time job. He will now make enough money to help pay his grandma and me back for what we have lent and have extra to even save for school. He’s been making progress. I have to remind myself that little steps are good, and that we are moving forward and not backward. I have to stop hoping for all at ( Read more... ) -

I think I’m a little depressed. I have little interest in doing anything aside from work. I have to find a financial balance between not working all of the time and living within my means. And getting myself out of debt. I’ve done it before. I know I can do it again.

New job. New life.
After 19 years in higher ed, I am now a full time nurse. I love what I do and can't wait to see what comes next.

New job
Well. Time to start looking for a new nursing job. They didn't give me any shifts for June. And apparently aren't looking to....so I am hoping to try hospice again. As much as I loved working at the jail, I went from 7-9 shifts a month to zero. Hard to work somewhere where they won't let you work. I know I said that I was going to cut back, but....
I don't have any scrubs. And I will start working in the near future. So, Ethan and I went out last night and picked up enough to get me started. After we were done, he said, "Good job mom. Proud of you".

One last rejection before I turn in. Ugh
Just when I try to see my glass as half full, life says differently.
One last rejection email before bed from one of the jobs I applied to. Dear god why!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Going to look really closely tomorrow to try to find positions that don't require experience. And hope for the best from there. Hope is all I have left, because reality keeps kicking ( Read more... ) -
Outlook
My outlook and attitude positively suck right now. A friend of mine went to a nursing job fair. This was what she learned. There is no nursing shortage in Chicago area. If you actually want to find a job, you're better off moving somewhere else for 18 months and then Coming back with experience. Because you won't be hired otherwise.
