Can you believe it about that cyclist? The crazy thing is that Andrew got into a bike accident on Friday, too, and I had to leave work early to go pick him up in Fitchburg. My co-worker was afraid that Andrew was that guy! Thank goodness, he wasn't, but he was banged up pretty badly.

And clearly I was jealous of all of his scrapes and bruises, because last night I celebrated the end of my semester by...crashing my bike and skinning up my knees and elbow. Yay.

Glad your grading's done! Good luck on the ANTM paper! My Medium paper was pretty bad, so I set the bar awfully low for you. You're welcome!

I should note that my father commented on the entry to say that the rec.bicycles.racing crowd has basically determined that if the guy's head had ACTUALLY been run over, it would have been crushed like an egg, because helmets only protect against impact, not pressure. Still, it sounds like it was Not Fun and the helmet obviously protected him from SOMETHING.
