Ran considers herself very lucky that Omi acknowledged the value in allowing her to go off to the Nexus to train. The monks on the receiving end of her blows probably don't feel the same way, but it's not Ran's fault if they're being sloppy with their guard. Despite the look of focus on her face, Ran is enjoying the sparring matches. For one thing, they require enough concentration that she can't worry about other things, like the lack of word from Yohji.
