Studying Japanese

I spent yesterday with a friend and fellow Japanese student, Kevin, meeting with Ayako, a Japanese woman in an ESL program at Stanford (she's here in the US with her husband, whose firm transferred him here for a year.) I'm kinda jealous. ^^; I took two years in college, but I feel I didn't learn half as much as you did, and it's all so rusty now (especially kanji). And being on the east coast, I really know of no Japanese classes anywhere nearby, which makes me really really worried about wanting to apply to the JET program. Because as much as I want to learn and loved learning Japanese, I have a very hard time teaching myself and need a class environment to push me.

But~ Your experience sounds so awesome~ Good luck with the level 3s (pass or fail, it's still an extraordinary thing from my pov)!

Hey Nezumiko, I like the journal, it almost sounds like I wrote it about myself. You will probably get some feedback by email on the descriptions. :) Love ya, see you when I get back from Afghanistan.
