Harriet Hayes and George Luz on TV in the same show? Damn, I may have to watch this.

Really interesting discussion of the practice in the UK of paying authors royalties of books taken out of libraries. I haven't read the comments since yesterday, but I'm surprised that no one has brought up the old privacy bugbear as another reason it wouldn't fly ( Read more... )

I still don't understand why they're remaking Cupid. Same producer/writer, different cast.

When was the original version? This isn't the show that was airing in the early '90's and is being remade, is it? I've heard something about that, but I can't remember the specifics.

1998. It starred Jeremy Piven and I think I watched most of it? It was really enjoyable.

They haven't because there is a big huge difference between knowing what books are taken out and knowing who takes the books out. <3 Librarians know what books are taken out and how often; it's where we get our circulation statistics from!

This morning I hung out in the children's library and listened to stories about penguins, I could really see myself as a librarian if someone would just hire me.

I remember the original Cupid, it was cute and sort of odd and good for that Bishop being there at the inugration.

I was just browsing through Matthew Settle's pictures over at imdb*, and I came across this and this. I hadn't seen those before! That's Shifty second from the left in the first one, right?

*why I have no idea. He doesn't even look like Speirs anymore *g*

Oh look at Douglas Spain! He's so adorable and happy! And no, I think that's One Lung, who I theorize Settle is totally a huge fanboy of -- there are stories of him at one of the reunions (it must have been the 2002, because he was in his cast at the time) calmly reaching over, taking off McClung's glasses, cleaning them off and handing them back without breaking.

One Lung is amazing. Pretty much everyone says he got robbed in terms of face time in the book and the series.
