I hijacked my sister's journal

I hijacked my sister's journal and other evidence of bad-sisterness.

Apologies to thenanda

My sister posted the article I posted regarding the school board guy who wanted anti-gay speakers and such in the schools. Madness ensues.  Neva replies way too much.

So here's one thing I said and a reply behind the cut

broken record me )

Lol I went to the actual journal and had a read, ya lot to say lol! But good stuff, you weren't like babbling or anything!
That person said about the whole anal sex thing, made it sound like only gay people do that, *newsflash* umm......guys and girls have anal sex too!

Yeah, they're not thinking too hard, huh?

Thanks for saying I wasn't babbling. I get so worked up over this this topic.

I think most people do, I mean, it really pisses me off when people are narrow minded, or don't even consider looking at it from someone elses point of view or whatever.

That's the key, being willing to see it from the other person's view. Because unless you can try to put yourself in the shoes of a gay person, and I mean really, and listen to their stories, etc, then you just can't know. And that's what really pisses me off about the "homosexuality is a choice" people, because they just block out any information that goes against their view.

You're so beautiful Neva! I read the other journal entries, too. You are so eloquent and intelligent with your words. I always agree with you! I just sit here shaking my head up and down, up and down! LOL

(((((HUGS)))))

Thanks, I try, but sometimes I get worked up and my mouth (fingers) won't stop running on.

Don't apologize. Thank you for continuing a debate I didn't have time to keep up with- wow I really opened Pandora's box.

Oh and you were arguing with my friend, Rob's dad "dmarney." We've never met but he every once in a while comments on my LJ...

Thanks. Ok, that was some adult person putting forth those ideas? I'm floored.

OK, so the gay lifestyle isn't unhealthy, because you have gay friends who don't lead an unhealthy lifestyle and straight friends who do. But there are this and that unhealthy aspect! And it connects with these other unhealthy behaviors! And sometimes they do things that are less unhealthy! Sounds like your premise is under attack from your own argument. When I add statistics (like the previously-linked CDC report on high risk of HIV), you're reduced to saying "we shouldn't be concerned with the gay lifestyle because there are other things you should be concerned about instead." There's nothing wrong with discouraging things that lead to other things we don't like (like child pornography, which we make illegal because of its high correlation to other crimes).

Ok, I'm not a debater really. I'm just speaking from life here, and it's highly emotional for me since I so deeply love my gay friends and I've known them for so long now that I know lots of details of their lives and their struggles. And I know a bit about HIV too, since I lost someone I care about to that as well ( ... )
