one of my coworkers (man of color) said he felt insulted by jindal. he felt like jindal's tone of voice was like mr. rogers or something and that he was speaking to americans as if we're all stupid children. i said (with some caveate about hoping it wasn't offensive) that it struck me as a little analogous to sarah palin, and he was like "i've made that analogy." my other coworker said that she had to turn the tv off when he started talking about katrina. oy. i don't know what to say about it all.
republicans aren't used to having to ask for anything. it's gonna take them a while to get used to it and figure out a tone of voice that sounds sincere. life was easier when dick cheney could just snarl "STFU".
Yeah Bobby Jindal! Great new ideas! The good thing about all this comparing our present situation to the 30's is that they all whined and whined in the 30's and lost big time 2 years later. Why? Nothing to offer except tax cuts.

My absolute favorite part, as I say in my post, was when he tried to use the example of Katrina as why we don't need government.
