The Elementary School bezejmenny August 26 2009, 09:20:27 UTC
Built in 1953, this primary school stands adjacent to the high school in which our heroes awaken. Although three stories high, both stairwells have collapsed, leaving access to the upper floors impossible. However, the rubble provides enough of a slope to safely enter the basement, which contains the cafeteria and an unlocked bomb shelter.

After leaving the room where he'd woken up with all those people and with that freaky introduction to this messed up murder game running through his memory, Yamamoto made his way out of the building. It seemed like it was a normal school, besides the falling apart and full of crazy people thing ( ... )

A school. This was just too creepy, but it had been shelter and offered a lot of places to hide in while she tried to reason with herself. Seras had ran out from the get go until she caught sight of the looming building ahead. Being the second one out she'd been able to reasonably assume that it was likely no one else was in there ( ... )

As quiet as Yamamoto tried to be, he wasn't really accustomed to being sneaky. His shoes crunched on the bits of broken and rotting wood and wall that had crumbled to the floor over who knew how many years this place had stood abandoned. He frowned down at his feet, but no matter where he put them, there was nowhere clear for a quiet step. It set his nerves on edge, and he could only hope that it wouldn't cost him too much ( ... )

The Playground bezejmenny August 26 2009, 09:21:04 UTC
The playground between the schools has been reclaimed by the wild, with trees and bushes providing good cover. A domed jungle jim stands in the center, surrounded by a maze of slides and tunnel tubes. Only chains hang on the swingset, missing their seats.

Yosuke had originally thought that maybe he should wait right outside the door for everyone, but as soon as he stepped outside, he realized just how bad an idea that was. This whole place just had an oppressive feel to it; not to mention that he wasn't in the best condition to take on anyone if anyone did want to fight as soon as they exited with their weapons. Not like there hadn't been a lot of fighting previously in the classroom. He lightly shook his head as he believed that all the rumors about Kanji were true; about how intimidating and scary he really was.

He rested his back against one of the bars of the domed jungle jim. Continued to look out to see if he recognized anyone to call out to them -- wondering if that was safe to do given everything, but didn't just want people to be on their own. Like all of his friends. What were they doing here? Would Kazama be all right with this sort of thing playing again? Then there was the idea that someone (someones) had to die before the day was out or else ( ... )

Shikamaru ran at full speed as soon as he was out the door of the classroom, assuming that someone would be waiting at the entrance of the school to pick off everyone who came out right away. At the last second he swerved, foregoing the doors in favor of a broken window to make his exit. He hit the pavement with a roll and stopped then to look around. No one in his immediate sight. Good. He reached into his bag finally to find out what weapon he'd been assigned.

"You've got to be kidding me," he muttered, fingers drawing out a ballpoint pen. He held it up, examining it closely to figure out if there was some trick to it, but... He shook his head. "Pain in the ass."

A sound behind him made him jump. Whoever was after him in the roll call was probably on their way out now. He had to get the hell out. He got to his feet, still clutching the pen, and took off running again. He had almost passed the playground when he spotted Yosuke. That idiot.

He approached from a direction Yosuke would see him coming, because surprise would be a bad ( ... )

The Church bezejmenny August 26 2009, 09:21:54 UTC
The ceiling of this century-old cathedral has collapsed but the belltower still stands, offering a 360-degree view of the building below and the neighboring cemetery. Several mausoleums offer shelter between the gravestones.

Squalo considered sticking around the classroom they woke up in, but he'd eventually decided it'd be better to get himself some sort of hideout where he could think, before putting any sort of plan in action. The ruins of the cathedral were a good starting point, though the fallen ceiling made it a dangerous corner with limited exits, the bell-tower appealed to him, if only because it let him explore this weird place without actually having to move around much ( ... )

When Kanji finally stumbled out of the school building, his boss and his senpai were nowhere to be found. He didn't blame them for not sticking around. They had to handle this like pros: go out and hunt 'em down. Kanji would have to do his part too, so they could meet up later and talk about how much ass they kicked, and how nobody messes with Hibari's gang and lives to talk about it, and then they could chill out and have some beers...

Except, of course, there weren't any beers around here. And there wouldn't be time to chill out. There was killing to do. A lot of killing to do. And even if Hibari's gang took down every other asshole here, day three would roll around and it wouldn't be any kind of party ( ... )

The church was silent, and the bell-tower carried sound well. When Squalo heard footsteps, he tensed up, sliding a hand into the suply bag to reach for the weapon there. It wasn't his, and he wasn't as comfortable with it as he'd like, but it was something, and he was definitely not helpless. Moving carefully as he heard the steps echoing, he slid down to the steps, trying to keep his head out of view from the wide windows that served him as observation point. He left the suply bag behind, figuring that if he went down and died, he wouldn't need it, and if he got out of it alive, he could always come up and fetch it.

Slowly making his way down, he tensed when the footsteps stopped and the silence returned. But it was heavy, now, charged with the knowledge that there was someone down there, and given his current circumstances, he couldn't afford to be sloppy. He might be dead set against killing, just out of spite to their captors, but he knew well others might not be ( ... )

The Hospital bezejmenny August 26 2009, 09:22:38 UTC
This sprawling hospital was abandoned in mid-operation, leaving rotten food on bedside tables and medical supplies scattered everywhere. The morgue stinks of bodies that decomposed rapidly after refrigeration ceased, but provides a good hiding spot for those with a strong stomach.

A hospital.

It's one of the first buildings he sees, and he finds it incredibly ironic that he should gravitate toward it, considering what was waiting for him inside his duffel bag. Xanxus glanced down at the scalpel in his hand and turned it about, watching as it reflected the weird yellow sky that this wherever they were had. It was a sharp blade, at least, but it could stand to be a little longer.

He glanced back up at the hospital and finally let out a breath as he headed inside. Xanxus had managed to tuck the scalpel into his sleeve, hiding it, maybe a little glad for the size making it concealable. It'd be easier to convince people that whatever he had gotten was absolute crap. And in the meantime, he could maybe look for more, something better.

The place reeks. The smell was overwhelming enough that Xanxus almost turned around and left again. But he stuck to it, covering his nose with an arm as he made his way further into the building. Soon enough he was picking up discarded bandages and stuffing them into his bag.

Fuck, it reeked. But with the obvious out the way and the leather-gloved hand that coiled around his nose, Mello’s lips pulled into a satisfied grin as he found himself a few bottles of ethanol. He had torn several pieces of cloth, placing them over his mouth and nose to obscure the disgusting scent of raw and rotting flesh that seemed to enclose around them. and he inhaled deeply with a immensity as he stuffed cloth in the opening of the bottles before tipping the alcohol on them until they were drenched.

Home-made molotov cocktails were like childplay, any bastard could make them. He had settled three of them in his hand -- and even though he knew for sure that he wasn’t going to make it through this fucking twisted game, he wasn’t going to go down without causing hell. He passed one to Matt and spoke softly enough for both of them to hear, "At least there is a better use for them then just sitting there and collecting dust."

Matt was trying hard not to gip at the stink and was thankful his stomach was empty anyway, aside from a little water he drank from his supplies. "Christ..." He had to admit it was a good idea on Mello's part, more explosives, probably not as loud as his grenade would be either. He took the bottle offered to him.

"We're not staying here tonight are we?" None of them would get any sleep with this stink, there had to be somewhere better. Between him and Mello one could always be on watch, while Nill slept. Matt wasn't sure what they were going to do, he didn't think he'd last till the end, with no way out. It seemed inevitable at least two of them would die. Probably all, out of their group, Mello was the only one he could see with a chance of surviving.
