There was a long moment of silence.
Jin threw his arms up and gave an exasperated groan, “Finally!”
That killed the atmosphere.
Kame shook his head disapprovingly and pulled the elder away.
Everyone else followed.

When it was finally just the two of them left, there was another moment of silence before Ryo gave him a confused look, “Huh?”
His confidence began to ebb away, “I…like you.”
The shorter boy’s confused look didn’t disappear, “haven’t we been through this before?”
Pi shook his head, “no, I mean I like, like you.”
Another pause, “…oh…okay, so now what?”
He blinked; it was his turn to be confused. That wasn’t what he expected at all, “what?”
Ryo rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly, “You just confessed, right? Well, I’m not rejecting you, so now what?”
Not what he was expecting at all.
As a result, his mind blanked out.
“Uh…I’m not sure…that’s a good question actually,” he gave a nervous laugh, “should we…I don’t know, kiss or something?”
The other pursed his lips, “that’s kind of weird, isn’t it…?”
Pi nodded in agreement, “yea well, what do you think we should do?”
A shrug, “I don’t know, maybe we should…hug or something?”
He blinked, “Hm? We do that all the time.”
“Yea, but it’ll be the first time we hug, you know,” the other looked away and muttered almost shyly, “not as best friends…”
“Oh,” he perked up, “okay, let’s try it.”
The two met each other half way in a rigid embrace.
It was awkward.
Ryo sniffed distastefully, “…Pi, you’re sweaty.”
He glared at the other, “Hey, you’re not any better.”
And the two couldn’t help but burst into laughter at the awkwardness of their situation.
The mood lightened.
Then all of a sudden, the taller boy leaned in and covered the other’s lips with his own.
Ryo sputtered, “w-what was that!?”
“A kiss?”
“Yea but still…”
“At least it wasn’t sweaty.”
The short boy looked away with a flush on his face, “you need to practice more…”
He blinked, “With you?”
A quiet voice, “…isn’t that a given?”
Pi grinned widely and dragged the other along by the hand, “we can practice till your heart’s content! But I’m hungry so come on, they’re all probably waiting for us, hm? I bet there’ll be lots of food too!”
The other just laughed and followed along.

Jin grinned as he watched his friends run towards them with smiles on their faces, “I love it when everything works out perfectly.”
Kame nodded in agreement, “Yea, I completely agree with you Jin, but don’t you think that’s a little too much sauce you’re putting on your noodles there?”
He looked down with a surprised expression on his face, “why didn’t you say anything earlier!? This just turned into three part sauce and one part noodle!”
A grin, “You just looked so happy I didn’t want to ruin your moment.”
The elder stared at his plate for a bit longer before shrugging it off, “oh well, this can easily be fixed…with more noodles.”
Within a minute, Pi was by their side, filling up his plate with food. “Hey guys.”
Jin smiled, “assuming that it went well, give me the details.”
His best friend laughed, “What details are there to give? You know, hug and kiss and it’s all good, it’s not like anything huge changed.”
He paused and hissed at the other, “…what? You kissed already!?”
“Yea, haven’t you…” realization lit up in his eyes, “oh…that’s interesting…”
“What do you mean it’s interesting!?”
“It’s…nothing…I guess it's just 'cause we were best friends, and you know, best friends are usually more comfortable with that stuff anyways and…I just thought you two would've…kissed…already…or something…” Pi shook his head and tried to stop his laughter but failed.

When he finally stopped laughing, a bit away, an argument could be heard.
“At least I’m not a rock!”
“What are you talking about, fish lips!?”
“Shut up dwarf!”
“Are you sure you want to be saying that?”
“…why? What are you going to do this time?”
“Guess what I have?”
“…”
“An autographed Gackt CD!”
“What!? Where do you get these things!?”
“I wonder how far I can throw this.”
“You wouldn’t dare!”
“Oh yes I would!”
“No you wouldn’t!”
“Just try me!”
“…Kame! Make Akanishi make Yamashita make the dwarf stop!”
“What’s this? Looking to younger kids for help now, hm?”
“…”
A tackle.
“Holy crap! Get off me! Pi, stop eating and get him off me!”
“Ha! Who’s asking for help from little kids now!?”
“Shut up!”
Pi looked over from his food, “Do you still want help, Ryo-chan?”
“No way, I’ll show this stupid kid!”
“I’m older than you!”
“Who cares!? You’re uglier too, but that doesn't make that big of a difference, now does it!?”
Jin finished off his food and covered the younger boy’s hand with his own, “this is nice and perfect, don’t you think?”
Kame looked over and smiled, “Yea…just like in the dramas.”
He laughed and nodded, “Just like in the dramas…”
“Get your grubby fins off of me! Argh! You’re going to scratch the CD! Get off! Pi!”

Later that day when everyone returned home, the two had decided to walk their dogs, and when they finished, Jin escorted the other back to his new apartment.
“So this is where you moved to?”
Kame shot him a strange look and nodded, “that’d explain why we’re standing here, wouldn’t it? I mean no, I just led you to a complete stranger’s house for no particular reason at all.”
He huffed, “hey, no need to be sarcastic about it.”
“Sorry,” a cute grin, “Love you.”
Jin laughed, “Hey, that’s my line!”
Kame grinned and opened the door, “so are you going to come in or did you want to go home?”

While Jin was at Kame’s, Pi headed over to Tackey’s.
The senior listened in fascination, “Wow, are you serious? So you mean you just confessed and he didn’t freak out or anything?”
He nodded, “Yea, that sounds about right.”
Tackey massaged the bridge of his nose, “I can’t believe it…after all the trouble we went through, all you had to do was confess in a straightforward manner…”
Pi laughed, “You’ll live, no one would’ve ever guessed it anyways.”
“I suppose…by the way, I just said that to make myself feel better, I wasn’t actually agreeing with you or anything.”
“Of course,” suddenly, his phone rang, he blinked at the caller ID, “hm, sorry, I think I should take this.”
The elder raised brow, “the rock?”
He shook his head, “close but not quite, it’s Jin…hello?”

Jin sighed in relief when his friend picked up, “Pi?”
“What is it?”
“…how’d you get Ryo-chan to kiss you?”

Pi stared at his phone, “…what?”
“How’d you get Ryo-chan to kiss you? You know…chuu!”
“I don’t get what…oh, hey, find your own way! It’s not special at all if you steal my way of doing things even though I have to admit, my way is probably better…”
“What are you talking about? It took you months to get him to realize that you liked him!”
He glared at the phone, “that’s completely irrelevant, just be creative.”
“But I’m not feeling creative!”
“Who cares? Do it in a stupid way then.”

He frowned, “a stupid way? How? I have no idea what you’re talking about unless you’re implying something, and if that was the case, I’d tell you to shut up. Hurry up, Pi, I’m in the bathroom right now. If I stay in here any longer, he’ll think I drowned in the toilet or something and then nothing romantic will come out of this.”
An unhelpful laugh, “Just do it, Akanishi!”
“You’re no help at all…” he muttered and hung up.

Tackey looked over, “what was that about?”
“Hm? Jin wanted my advice on how to chuu someone.”
“Ah, they’re all turning to you now, hm? Now that you’ve won a rock’s affection.”
Pi laughed, “Yes, with my charm and appeal, I’m irresistible even to rocks.”
The elder raised a brow, “where’s that from?”
“You, still don’t remember? You were running around on the last day of school yelling about how you won a certain god’s affection.”
“Right…you should know I don’t remember these things, though I really shoud…”
He smiled and got up, “yea well, I think I’m going to go, you know, find the rock and bug him.”
Tackey grinned lazily, “Sounds like fun, you should go before Tsubasa gets back and invites you out for dessert or something. You have done well, my student-pupil-child-person-thing, I’ll see you around.”
“Sure, bye.” Once he was outside, he grinned to himself, “Operation Love accomplished!”

When he left the bathroom with his cell phone placed safely in his pocket, with Pi’s number ready for dialing incase he ran into further troubles that he’d need advising on, he found the younger boy waiting for him, “…yes?”
Kame shook his head, “it’s nothing, you were just in there for so long I thought you gave birth or something.”
He looked down at his stomach and shook his head seriously, “no, no I didn’t. I mean, I think I would’ve realized it because from what I’ve heard, it’s very painful and I’m very sensitive to pain, so I’m guessing I didn’t give birth.”
The younger boy laughed, “I don’t think I’ve ever seen you this weird before.”
Jin gave a sheepish grin and stepped towards the other. There was a yelp and the last thing he saw was Ten and Pin running away while he fell.

When he came to his senses, he found that he was on top of Kame in a very familiar position, except there weren’t any leashes this time, and their lips were actually touching this time.
It was completely unexpected.
His eyes widened as he got up, “Crap, crap, crap can we undo that? That’s not what I had in mind for a first kiss, damn, can we just pretend this didn’t happen? I’ll do it properly, I swear! Why me!? I didn-”
Kame sat up and stared at him for awhile before leaning forward and silencing him with a kiss, “was that what you had in mind?”
“No, not really, but since it’s from you, I propose we forget about that first one and say you initiated our first kiss. How does that sound?”
The younger boy looked up for a moment, “I think I prefer telling people that you tripped and that’s what our first kiss was like. You were probably half conscious and I might’ve gotten a concussion from it. It sounds exciting, I like it.”
Jin laughed, “Fine, only if you tell people I fell with style and it was on purpose and that it was a really good kiss, even though I was only half conscious.”
Kame smiled, “Deal. You know, we seem to have very interesting stories, we were fighting over an umbrella when we met and it was ‘purposely’ accidental when we first kissed, not to mention the whole crush on Yamashita-senpai and the huge love square thing that went on…”
“Overly dramatic and probably unnecessary…I like it.” He looked at the other seriously, “you know, to make up for such a weird and possibly not all that great of a first kiss, I’m going to have to give you good kisses you all the time to make up for it.”
The other nodded, an equally serious expression on his face, “yea, I think that’d be the best thing for you to do, I mean, the first kiss is supposed to be the most important, right? And ours wasn’t even intentional, just think about all the amazing fully conscious and intentional kisses you’ll have to give.”
Jin pursed his lips and nodded in agreement, “how about I start now?”
He grinned and leaned in covered the other’s lips.

“This is awkward…Pi…why are we listening to this?”
Pi looked over and turned back to this phone which had been placed on the table. Apparently when Jin tripped, he somehow hit the call button which resulted in his best friend picking up and listening in on their whole first kiss and more.
“You’re going to need a lot more kisses than that to make up for it.”
“Hm…? I’ll take my time repaying you, here’s another one…”
Ryo looked up, “amazingly awkward.”
“But so entertaining,” he laughed, “fine, I get it.” He turned off his cell phone and turned to the other, “you know, we better get practicing too, wouldn’t want Jin to be bragging about how great his kisses are and stuff.”
The shorter boy snorted, “Fine, but we better get to take breaks.”
He blinked, “Breaks to do what?”
A raised a brow, “To actually watch the movie?”
Pi grinned, “You’re so work oriented, but sure, we can take a break after…how about a hundred kisses, hell, I'll even throw some cuddling in there just for you.”
“We’re not actually going to watch the movie, are we?”
“Only if you really want to.”
Ryo thought for a moment before leaning in with a shy grin, “The rating wasn’t all that great anyways.”

The two were on the couch and watching reruns and commercials when their dogs hopped onto the couch to curl up and sleep. Jin sighed in contentment, “I love summer…”
Kame nodded, “yea, who doesn’t?”
He blurted the first thing that came to his head, “Aliens.”
“Of course.” The shorter boy laughed and snuggled closer to him, then Ten jumped onto their laps and began licking their faces.
Jin smiled and hugged the dog loosely in his arms, “you know…if it wasn’t for Ten, this probably would’ve never happened, both us meeting and kissing…I love dogs.”
The younger boy nodded, “me too…”
“But I love you more.”
Kame grinned, “I wish I could say the same thing to you.”
“Hey!”
“I’m joking! Love you!”
And in between them, Ten wagged his tail happily before curling up and falling asleep on their laps.

“Of course.” The shorter boy laughed and snuggled closer to him, then Ten jumped onto their laps and began licking their faces.
Jin smiled and hugged the dog loosely in his arms, “you know…if it wasn’t for Ten, this probably would’ve never happened, both us meeting and kissing…I love dogs.”
The younger boy nodded, “me too…”
“But I love you more.”
Kame grinned, “I wish I could say the same thing to you.”
“Hey!”
“I’m joking! Love you!”
And in between them, Ten wagged his tail happily before curling up and falling asleep on their laps.
