I've got another manuscript to beat into shape over the next few months. Writing this thing was a bear and I don't want to tackle anything else this big for a while. Time for a silly fanfic meme like this one, which I snagged from beckyh2112Pick a paragraph (or any passage less than 500 words) from any fanfic I've written, and comment to this post with ( Read more... )

He was looking at the list on the wall again. Whatever it was, it was important to him, she guessed. Looking around, she saw that there was another list of numbers and names on his right. There were only six of them in this list. Bob's name leapt out at her. Matrix was there too, at the end. The rest she didn't recognize ( ... )

This selection is from "Rest and Reclamation," the finale to my Daemon Blast series. I began "Damon Blast" (damn and blast, get it?) after ReBoot ended with the third season, leaving a lot of questions unanswered, most obviously what Daemon was and how she was taking over the net. Being a fanficcer, I just had to start telling my version. While I was writing Mainframe announced that, with Cartoon Network's help, they would be making a fourth season of ReBoot! Thus this series was obsolete before I finished it, but I kept on, because I was having too much fun to just drop it.

She used to have a mask just for that, before Bob... Her eyes flickered dark blue, and her face went blank for a nanosecond.

This is after Bob merged Hex's masks into a mobile face. That happened recently, and Hex is still used to thinking in terms of masks. I thought of her "neutral" mask as "nobody home."

She blinked, and her eyes were green again. She scanned the names. Then she looked back at Turbo. "Where are the Viruses?"

The question surprised him. He said "We haven't put their names up. We only have record of the Guardians."This is one theme I've carried throughout my ReBoot series: the treatment of Viruses. I don't believe that just because a dataform is a Virus he or she or it is inevitably evil. If they have free will, then they can make choices, and can use their power for good or harm, or can choose not to use them at all. Just as you ( ... )
