I caught this show on TV a few times while I was in college. Our cable had an Asian channel that I looked at now and then out of curiosity, and this show was the best thing I ever saw there (also one of the few things I saw there with subtitles). La-Mulana actually has a really sad ending if you think about what you're doing at all. It bugs me a little that the ending does nothing to exploit this (though I did like the scene it showed while the credits were playing). One of my favorite parts of La-Mulana is actually... well, just the title itself. "La-Mulana." It just sounds awesome, and it's perfect for ancient ruins. It's a small thing, but I always really enjoy a good title. I was kind of surprised to find that it's just the director's name (Naramura) reversed syllabically.

I've been playing La-Mulana for a while. I've beaten the first six bosses now. It's interesting because I kinda stopped being interested in games for a long time, and I'm suddenly playing them again.

I never got very far in La-Mulana and I don't even have a Wii, but this is a really well-made trailer. I love the music.

While I must confess to sometimes enjoying levelbusting in classic RPGs, I certainly understand why many people around here dislike it and I'm not sure I would want to make a game with that as the main way to grow your characters. A thing I never imagined: tool-assisted speedruns of RPGs.

There's one on Youtube for Dragon Warrior 3. It's almost 2 hours long. I'm worried that I might watch it.

The past few months I've spent a lot of time working at various CVS/pharmacies (why on earth does your store have a slash in the name?) and I've pretty much memorized the contents of their stores. This is obviously a really old thing, but playing 20Q is still fun. One of the funniest parts is how the AI relates different objects/concepts. I just played a game where I was thinking of "a star," which it guessed successfully, and these are the objects it considers to be similar ( Read more... )
