HELPP: dry, sensitive, eczema covered skin :(

The lowdown: I have always struggled with chronic eczema problems. Three weeks ago I visited my family in Arizona and my skin suffered like never before, and having read No More Dirty Looks (a great book exposing the facts about skin products) on the airplane and already being a no-poo-er I decided to switch to cleaner, natural products as well as ( Read more... )

I also have been drinking green tea with raw, local honey every morning, I've been making sure to drink AT LEAST 8 glasses of water a day, and i tried an oatmeal bath that I didnt feel helped too much, maybe I will try that again though.

My fiancé gets uber dry skin as well. Ultrabalm from Lush helps the dry spots on his face when he uses it. I wouldn't use it except at night since it's pretty gloopy and takes a while to absorb, but it can be used pretty much anywhere on the body. As far as I remember, it is only made of wax, so it's pretty basic.

Natural products don't work for my eczema.

I'm currently using Dr. Bronner Tea Tree liquid soap and Cortzione 10: intensive healing formula.

coconut oil sometimes helps me.

use chamomile tea as a toner? That works for my scalp.

Good luck! I know how hard and discouraging it can be. Eczema on the face is impossible to hide unlike the arms and legs.

I was also going to suggest the coconut oil, it helped me get rid of excema that no Dr's creams worked on. First thing I would do if possible is stop using anything for a week or so, only rinse with water. I used to have skin that was very sensitive and got totally dried out, the more things I tried to help the worse it got until I gave my face a break.

The only lotion I can use on my face without irritation is Johnson and Johnson clean & clear, but only use it once in the am. Coconut oil I have to be careful of on my face or it gets too greasy but it's fine to leave on if I'm not going anywhere for awhile and want to let it soak in.

Yeah my boyfriend has been suggesting i stop using everything for a week as well but I just don't know when I'll have a week that I can just stay inside because I feel like it would get REALLY bad for the first few days.
