a natural antiperspirant would be an oxymoron. it is natural for the body to sweat; that is one way toxins are released.

i know, but it doesn't mean i'm willing to give up not being a wet mess.

Actually, it depends on how you see it. "Natural" could mean "naturally sourced" not "natural in function", in which case I can imagine a number of "natural" antiperspirants.

Sweating, however, is not a significant part of the body's "detoxification" mechanisms.

I don't think there are any natural antiperspirants. Its natural to sweat.

I personally see no merits in oil pulling.

All I've heard about oil pulling is that it does help your teeth (which makes sense since most oils are antibacterial and most plaque and oral diseases are a result of bacteria), but nothing more.

Antiperspirants are sadly unnatural, and you're not going to find one in the health food aisle. However, staying healthy and eating healthy foods can alleviate sweat to a certain extent. If you're in shape, your body isn't going to sweat as easily, since you won't be doing exercise just going up the stairs. Of course, it will sweat in high heat regardless.

I agree with antiperspirant things from what others say. Sweating is what mother nature intended. Good ol' aluminum whatnots is what makes you not perspire...

I use half/half EVOO-CO + EOs for OCM- works fine for me. I have normal/dry skin. Its kind of a personal mixture. You'll find your own combo with trial and error.

OCM - Meh. I can't stand being limited to just one way of doing things. Makes me feel trapped. I like to change my face washes with my mood and the seasons. For the summer, I did a mix of honey, garbanzo flour, infusion of random mix of herbs, yogurt, and sometimes a vitamin E capsule. I haven't decided on the colder season scrub, but right now it's a random mix of herbs and oatmeal, ground. Then, I bind it with apricot kernel oil and a vitamin E capsule ( ... )

It's so much fun! You should seriously just go nuts one night. Like, a whole "pamper yourself" thing, but make everything yourself. It's addicting, because the results are amazing. Everything works so much better when it's taylored to you perfectly. I'm never using store-bought products again!

that's very appealing to me, making it myself, because i'm quite against putting money in the hands of exploitive companies. i try very hard to purchase from companies that are fair trade, organic, etc.
