hello! I just tried OCM for the first time this evening, using a 50/50 of evoo/co. do you think that makes sense since my skin is kind of shiny/oily in parts yet dry in others? also, what's the point for vegetable glycerine with OCM

OCM - Meh. I can't stand being limited to just one way of doing things. Makes me feel trapped. I like to change my face washes with my mood and the seasons. For the summer, I did a mix of honey, garbanzo flour, infusion of random mix of herbs, yogurt, and sometimes a vitamin E capsule. I haven't decided on the colder season scrub, but right now it's a random mix of herbs and oatmeal, ground. Then, I bind it with apricot kernel oil and a vitamin E capsule.
Oral Oil Pulling - I think that's an area where, if you notice benefits, then it's for you.
Antiperspirant - Well, it's not an antiperspirant, but you could use arrowroot or corn starch to absorb moisture. Maybe put some in an old loose makeup powder container, and clean the puff to use as an applicator? I suppose you could make your own absorbant deodorant with a mixture of arrowroot/corn starch and baking soda. I've heard - and experienced - some negative feedback on baking soda being irritating, though.
The best homemade deodorant I've come up with so far is to get a little 2 ounce spray bottle, put 1-2 teaspoons of Everclear (:D) in it, then make a mixture of essential oils that I like - going very easy on the citrus ones... they HURT! - and then fill it the rest of the way with distilled water. Once you figure out how to mix and match to where your concoctions smell good, it is so much fun! These also make wonderful body splashes.
It's so much fun! You should seriously just go nuts one night. Like, a whole "pamper yourself" thing, but make everything yourself. It's addicting, because the results are amazing. Everything works so much better when it's taylored to you perfectly. I'm never using store-bought products again!
that's very appealing to me, making it myself, because i'm quite against putting money in the hands of exploitive companies. i try very hard to purchase from companies that are fair trade, organic, etc.
