i know aloe vera gel/juice (in bottles meant for human consumption, not the sunburn stuff from the drug store) is supposed to be very good for detoxing the liver.

It might not be best for him to go cold turkey - that's the most difficult way to handle mentally/emotionally. Some people need to wean themselves off slowly. Good luck.

He is probably the only alcoholic I have ever met unable to wean. The poor guy is scared shitless and I am trying to get facility to take him in but I guess you can only get help if you are just a little alcoholic or do something illegal *curses*

Dandelion is good, too. I almost forgot:) Dandelion does a mild liver detox.

You could get something like RenewLife's Liver Detox.

Mods, please add to the memories if not already there.
This seems a very appropriate post and I'd like to be able to reference it in the future.

Just a friendly request :-)

Thanks!

Herbs: Milk thistle, dandelion, red clover, burdock, indigo.

Liver flush: Mixing 3 tablespoons olive oil and the juice of a lemon (plus some turmeric) and drinking that the first thing in the morning for a few days.

Calling a local AA office and asking for help or advice, if needed. How bad are the withdrawal symptoms? Does he need professional help?

Later: Dry brushing, steam room/sauna, acupuncture. Drinking tons of water. Yoga.

Make sure you take care of yourself, as well. Don't exhaust yourself in the process. Good luck.
