Yao was in a rush, the documents piled in his arms were heavy and he swore he would find little paper cuts on his wrists where his suit jacket didn't protect them. He felt the need to jog, but thought that would look ridiculous, so he walked quickly, distracted with keeping his burden secure. As he passes the secretary's desk, he habitually turned his head to smile at the secretary and a minute later bumped into something, or rather someoneTo his great relief, he didn't drop his pile of papers like in some bad and painfully cliche soap opera scene. He reeled back a bit, gathering his balance and kept his eyes on the precarious pile he held ( ... )

Yong-soo didn't really move much, being a bit too well-grounded to stagger. He blinked though at the sudden impact. The papers fell to the ground in a wild blizzard, left completely sprawled over the ground like fallen leaves. Immediately, he went down to help pick them up and then he heard that voice. Some papers in hand, he froze as he looked up to finally realize who had just run into him ( ... )

Yao jumped slightly when Yong-Soo latched onto him so suddenly, pinning his arms to his sides. He blinked rapidly, the nostalgic feeling brought on by his brother's tight embrace coming down on him like a bucket of warm water. Yong-Soo had always been... unconventional, almost to the point of being extremely irritating ( ... )

Yong-Soo breathed in the smell of Yao, the smell of spices and soy sauce and those odd herbs he liked so much. Good old Yao... he never really changed. And he felt both terrified and comforted by the thought.

...

I've never seen you this quiet.

...am I quiet?

...It is probably nothing, isn't it?

Y-yes. It's nothing at all, Yao-... Yao-hyung.

He finally let go of Yao, realizing that he was probably suffocating the older man. "Oh- Sorry about that!" He bowed again. "Er- I hope I haven't hurt you!" He finally met the other's eyes, a look of childish chagrin lingering there but also the same eagerness as a puppy.

"I work here!" He looked around. "You're probably working here too!" He indicated the papers before blanching and going to his knees again to help gather them up for the other man. "Sorry about that!"

Not at All! (sorry for taking some time to reply) pandaru_yao May 3 2009, 02:50:23 UTC
Yao didn't keep a lot of things in his workspace, usually just things that were necessary and things that were important to him. He did put up a few pieces of art on the walls, only two of which he'd done himself. Ink designs and landscapes speckled with water color or gouache. He thought that it would be good to give off a nice air of professionalism with that, and make the space seem more inviting. Of course he had books, papers, pens, pencils, so on and so forth, but the only little nick-knacks you could find would be partially obscured by a large encyclopedia or an indoor plant ( ... )

"Yao-hyung." He bowed again, looking again a little nervous even a little diffident, which was hard to believe of the Korean.

Yong-soo stepped in and gave a low whistle of appreciation. "I forgot how good you were at art," he said, looking at one of the prints. "You always took first at the school wide art festival." Unlike Yong-soo, whose art skills were limited to stick figures and engineering schematics and some digital art. And possibly those massive, messy art projects that usually involve splashing massive sheets with paint or creative use of paint filled water balloons (that had been fun and totally worth the month's worth of extra chores helping the janitor).

He grinned widely, immediately catching sight of the massive Hello Kitty collection. "You never lost your love of Hello Kitty, did you?" He ran a hand through his hair, his eyes settling on the picture of the girl. "She looks familiar... is she a relative of yours?"

Yao blinked in surprise at the mention of his art and his Hello Kitty collection, and was about to protest until Yong-Soo mentioned the photo. He faltered a bit, somewhat uncomfortable. This was why he didn't usually keep personal things obvious in his office, for some reason even the simplest of personal questions made him feel like sinking into the floor. But this was Yong-Soo, he was family as well, even if they had not seen one another in so long. He laughed nervously, scratching the side of his neck ( ... )

I can really see Yong-soo doing this... dae_han May 4 2009, 01:44:21 UTC
Yong-soo did have a way of being too quick about his questions. He really did want to know the answers but at the same time... they seemed to be a nervous habit. His eyes flickered over directly to Yao, who had always been uncomfortable with these sorts of matters. Then again, that was why Yong-soo had teased the older boy so much as a youth; it was just too easy to do it. To be fair, he did it to Kiku too. Yao on the other hand didn't punch him or tackle him to the ground however. He'd mostly yelled, though admittedly the Chinese was pretty damn scary when he got mad ( ... )

Yao moved his hands to intertwine beneath his chin, and kept his gaze on Yong-Soo as he poured the tea and smiled, "Thank you." Yao was surprised when Yong-soo so casually threw in the suggestion of their dinner choice, having been focused on the topic at hand, but recovered quickly with a smile ( ... )

Yong-soo remained leaning back easily, looking a little less professional now. Though they were barely separated in age by a year, the impressions of maturity that both offered were vastly different, even though Yao had the ageless face that only Asians could really manage. Yong-soo loosened his tie just a little around his neck, the revealing the glint of a gold chain around his neck ( ... )

"Yes, you do run into people rather easily, don't you?" Yao said a little dryly, while maintaining a small smile on his face, then laughed. He looked down in interest at the chicken feet, then took a small sip of his tea before helping himself, taking it upon himself to start the first half of the meal and indicating Yong-soo do the same.

"What exactly is it that you've been working on, aru?"

"It's my default method and circumstance," Yong-soo replied with a laugh of his own. "And I can't say it's never a bad thing." He helped himself to dumplings with a very healthy appetite.

"Database work," he replied after swallowing shrimp. "They've been needing to update their system so it's easier to pull up information." He made a slight face as he selected fried wontons. "And I've been finding some less than honest behavior on the part of my predecessor."
