"Ah, yes dim sum sounds like the best choice, aru." With that he disregarded his menu and sat back after taking a sip of the tea Yong-soo had just poured, tilting his head as he listened to the other talk with interest. He noticed his brother fiddle with the tassels on the menu and moved his gaze to watch Yong-soo's expression.
"Locked in your office, aru?" He grinned, "And you have time to take note of a girl and tease an Italian," he chuckled good-naturedly, "Juggling work and play isn't easy, I'm impressed, aru." And he was, even though Yong-soo seemed to be admitting to having "no social life," or something along those lines, not very many people who worked as much as they did could manage keeping up such relationships. Many could become completely engulfed in their job, his own boss being a good example of that. The thought of Ivan caused him to furrow his brow briefly and look off to the side, but he shook his head and looked back at Yong-soo.
"I have not had the pleasure of getting to know Director Jones all that well, but... he seems like an interesting person, aru." He grinned, "I take it you have fun working for him?"

"Well, it's not as though someone put a gun to my head and told me to work," he replied jovially. "Said cute girl from Internal Affairs I had to talk to because I was requesting a file from her. All work, I swear. And the Italian... I ran into while working out downstairs. All complete coincidences." He winked. "You know I tend to just run into people." That was how he had met Yao so many years ago, after all, literally bowling into the Chinese during the first week of school in the usual flurry of chaos he called walking around.
"Depending on 'fun,'" Yong-soo said with a careless shrug. "I haven't seen him around very much lately. But then again, what I've been working on keeps me in my own desk." He took a sip of tea carefully as the waitress came around again to get their orders. As he was the one buying, he ordered for them and it was evident why he favored this restaurant as the first round bamboo baskets came around in almost record time. He opened one of them, finding chicken feet.

"What exactly is it that you've been working on, aru?"

"Database work," he replied after swallowing shrimp. "They've been needing to update their system so it's easier to pull up information." He made a slight face as he selected fried wontons. "And I've been finding some less than honest behavior on the part of my predecessor."

Chuckling, he selected a dumpling. "'Less than honest behavior'?" He continued curiously and smiled, looking up at Yong-soo from his plate, "how do you mean?"

Yong-soo actually grimaced. "Skimming off the books," he replied just a little sourly. "The guy I was hired to replace was definitely doing it." He finished the crispy dumpling he had bitten into.

He blinked at the grimace before returning his attention to his own meal for a moment then frowned in confusion, yet again, "...'Skimming of the books'?"

Yong-soo selected a steamed shrimp. Before biting into it, he clarified, "Embezzlement, Yao-hyung."

"Ah, sorry, would you excuse me a moment?" He asked, getting up and putting a hand in his pocket momentarily to make sure what he needed was there.

He blinked. "Sure!" His eyes did not miss the movement to a pocket, a furtive movement. Something was niggling at the back of his brain, some distant memory that he was not sure he wanted to quite remember, even after over a decade. Memory always did that to you. He sipped at his cup of jasmine oolong carefully, burning his lips slightly on the piping hot brew.

It was a nice bathroom considering it was public, though there was a suspicious-looking stain in the bottom left corner of the mirror he was trying to ignore. He looked down, focusing on pulling the pill bottle out of his pocket, twisting the cap off and setting it down on the black linoleum counter.
The pills rattled loudly in the empty bathroom as he bumped the bottle against the heel of his palm to bump one out, then popped it back and swallowed...then adjusted his ponytail absentmindedly. Feeling a bit calmer, he finished fixing his appearance and walked out of the restroom.
Making his way back to the table was a little more difficult than leaving it, as a party of twelve was trying to be seated. Yao finally got back, and pulled his chair back with a light smile. "Sorry about that," he sat down at the table and folded his hands in front of him.

He picked up one of the last baskets that had come around, opening to find sweet sesame rolls. "How has Nation Corp been treating you by the way, Yao-hyung?" he asked.

As he sat down, he gave Yong-soo a smile, "It's the best job I have had since college." He took a sip of water.
