What on earth prompted them to call CPS last year?

And let me tell you, my son's teacher didn't think to call me when he touched another student's lunch plate inappropriately last week, but saying "Boys can date boys" was absolutely a "Must call mom!" event.

I'm ready to pull out my hair and am considering looking into an alternative to the public school here.

Callan was talking to his friends about the movie Despicable Me and an assortment of grown adult educators took this to mean that we actually forced him to a Box of Shame as punishment. Also that when he was talking about sometimes being accidentally scratched by the rats when he was holding them that we put rats in said box, also as punishment.

Your school would have *loved* me. Since I was little, my family owned an illustrated, basic biology book that included anatomical drawings of a naked man and a woman, an explanation of pregnancy, and the various stages of baby development.

The real kicker of this situation? We live in an extremely rural community. EXTREMELY RURAL. The Future Farmers of America are one of the district's single largest student groups, along with the 4H Club. One of the kids involved here? Lives on a working dairy farm and showed his own calf at the Oley Farm Fair last year. We live on a property that was, when my husband was Callan's age, a small working farm for sheep and goats and my kids have witnessed animals mating and giving birth since we moved out here.

People living in rural farming communities who get their panties in a wad about sex never fail to astonish me.
