...I suppose I brought this on myself.

I was just telling the whole office and everybody who called to ask how well Callan was doing at school.

I just got a call.

From his principal.

He hit his teacher this morning.

We're seeing her and the guidance counselor next Wednesday for a meeting on "making him as successful as he can be!"

::rubs eyes::

i brought this on me, callan, school drama

He did well, none of the other students could land a blow.

At least he hit his teacher and not vice versa?

...given vivid memories of some of my own teachers through the years, I have to admit my first impulse was to ask what she'd done to him.

Not that hitting people is ever okay, and I understand why that needs to be reinforced when dealing with a little kid, but at the same time... at that age you don't have an awful lot of other ways to decisively tell someone off.

The SLP in the room (that'd be me) wholeheartedly agrees. Lots of times when little kids hit adults, it's not because they really want to punch the fuckers, it's because they've run their abilities to communicate and lose control.

Hopefully the teacher (and the administration) keep an even head about this.
