My parents separated when I was about twelve. They completed the legal divorce after I started college - soon before my mom remarried. Sure, there was plenty of emotional challenges, depression, insecurities and communication issues to overcome within our family. I just read the story about Mírzá Adu'l-Fadl in `Akká when the Western pilgrims shower him with so much praise because of his service to the Cause in America. Stories are powerful.
When my dad and I read Indian in the Cupboard together like a decade ago(?!), I took on the emotional turmoil of the characters. Either that or the story compacted and released the frustration, sadness and confusion that were festering due to the collapse of of my parents' marriage.

I'm in love!
I believe that's also the subject of a post from my year of service blog. Happy Naw-Rúz a day late!
My hidden lesson for the new year was patience and reliance on God. I think yesterday was the first time I ever spent Naw-Rúz by myself. I hope it's the last.
