You're welcome! Aren't they marvelous? I've made three so far to hold various small items, and I'm cleaning out several olive oil bottles and a wine bottle to use next. I'm probably going to be giving sets of these as gifts this Christmas, since they are so fast and easy to make, and so much fun.

And the neatest thing about them (to me) is that they're the sort of thing that, if you forget to dust them, just wind up looking more interesting! (Okay, actually, the neatest part is that you are recycling something that would just get thrown out or broken up and recycled into something less nifty.)

I'm getting brave, by the way, and starting on my own handmade book a la your instructions some time back. I'll be reusing an old Spanish textbook. I hope to turn it into a present for my husband for Christmas or his birthday.

The, er, crystal skulls (getting Indiana Jones flashbacks here) remind me of an art sculpture I saw in Lyon once. It was in a museum, and it was a giant skull (maybe three feet height and widths each) made out of glass and bedecked with silver reflective shards, lit from within, and rotating on a pedestal in a black room to throw off shiny light spots! Disco skull, wooo!

...it made everyone in our tour group queasy.
