As you may know, the Humane Society of the United States and Humane Society Legislative Fund presented an award to me for my advocacy on animal welfare issues considered by the Congress in 2006. Like you, I feel it is important to have policies in place that protect animals from all forms of abuse and cruelty. Whether the issue is horse slaughter, animal fighting, protection from extinction, or unauthorized or cruel experimentation; I assure you that I will continue to fight on behalf of innocent creatures.
Thank you for your perspective on this issue; I will be sure to keep your comments in mind when the U.S. House of Representatives consider animal rights legislation going forward.
Again, thank you for sharing your thoughts. Please know that your comments and questions are always welcome. I look forward to hearing from you in the future.
Sincerely,
Eddie Bernice Johnson
Member of Congress
