Kitty Home Needed in Capital District of New York!

The details are here.

Basically, a constellation of Sucky Facts of Life have conspired against friends of mine, and now Dogwood (who is a cat, not a tree or a dog) needs a new home within the month. He's a shorthair, a cutie, and almost two years old.

There is nothing wrong with Dogwood, it's not his fault. He's sweet, healthy, litter-trained, and loveable. It's not his people's fault. They are loving, kind, and responsible. It's a combination of his humans' less-than-stellar health and impending asstastic housing issues, neither of which are going to resolve any time soon -- like I said, Sucky Facts of Life -- that are responsible.

These are friends of mine, the situation is really sucktastic and quite painful for them, and I would much rather they be able to find Dogwood a home with someone they may hear from again, ever, or be able to reach, than have to take him to the Humane Society.

If you know anyone in New York, please forward them this link, or forward it to random people and ask if they know anyone in New York. Or if you know anybody who wants a cat, let them know about this, because it's possible that they could arrange transport for quite a distance if that's the only way it can be done.

More details are available at madbonnycaptain's, here. Please share a link to that page! They have looked at their choices, their choices suck, and they are trying to do the right thing here. I really feel awful for them. I would like for Dogwood to not have to have a really hard time with this, since it's bad enough on his people.

I wish I could help by taking him in so that I could have a cat named Fish and a cat named Dogwood, because that would be fantastic, but I can't, so all I can do is spread the word. If all you can do is the same, that's still something. It's how we found a home for Jack, a home for Gracey, a home for Hecate/Widdershins . . . it's how these things work.

I will keep reminding people. You have been warned.

Thank you all for all you do. Y'all are wonderful.
