Community stance on plagiarism.

Most of you, by now, have heard of the plagiarism issue in our community and other Matt/Mohinder communities in this fandom. I hate having to bring this up again for the sake of the few who do this and are the reason why we have to put rules like these in place.

I know I'm not in charge anymore, but I don't think anything that is obviously from another fic could be ‘accidental’ *or* ‘explainable’. I'm still not sure what you're trying to say with the "I'll let them explain" thing. What to you would be considered a proper explanation?

What ilsaluvsrick did was steal word for word from another story (for quite a bit of it, at that). When I banned her I don't think she could have given me a logical explanation that would have changed that. And in retrospect I actually think I was more lenient there than I should have been, I had reason to believe her other work was also suspect yet didn't delete those posts at that time.

Perhaps it's because I've never handled anyone that's plagiarized before that I didn't know it was so highly policed. I guess I might need to redefine what I've said. I don't want to seem like I'm going easy on plagiarizers, I just don't want to jump to conclusions when someone calls 'copycat'. Especially if I don't have all the facts.

And maybe this is something that calls for no lean way and I need to do just that. Thanks for your input. I do appreciate it and I think I'll rewrite this stance. Make it a bit more clearer.
