Family

SO! I must start this by saying that I'm sorry if this makes no sense, for I rarely make sense, but hopefully it'll be fun!

Right, that out of the way: let's talk about your character/s Family. What their parents were like, if they had siblings or not, what their general upbringing involved. Were they incredibly messed up from a young age? Or did ( Read more... )

OKAY, SO. Some of my characters have more family headcanon than others so those that I have large, LARGE amounts for (Penny and Raphie, basically~) Will be done in separate comments. 'Kay? 'Kay~.

Raphael had a fairly ordinary childhood, really. His parents are still married, and still fairly boring people, who are extremely unlikely to be reincarnations of anybody. He basically was a normal kid in himself, growing up to like medicine and all that jazz~.

His siblings, however... Well, my headcanon for them is a lot more interesting. Raphie has two siblings: a big brother (the dude who he stabbed, yeahhhh) and a little sister, and was fairly close to both of them. Except, in my head, neither of them were incredibly nice people: his sister was a little odd and a little prone to acting out and then batting her eyelashes to convince her big brother to forgive her everything.

His brother, on the other hand, is a lot worse. In my head, until contradicted, his brother is basically a sort of crime lord. Violent, bloody and entirely prepared ( ... )

Comes from a extremely competitive household, a extremely competitive one. To the point where he was almost forced to fight his sisters for food. His mother was a great fan of classical literature, as shown by his name, and was also... Well, a bit of a demanding nut. A outlook shared by his father, who wanted everything and DAMN WHAT HIS KIDS HAD TO DO TO GET IT!

As such Penny doesn't have a great relationship with his sisters. He gets on alright with his oldest sister, who is about three years older than him, for the most part. But the one who is only a year older than him? He'd happily kill her, kill her dead, and hide the body. And he's pretty sure that her feelings on the matter are the same, the two never did get along well.

So, yes... Not that nice a family, when you get down to it~.

Minthe is a single child, and quite happy because of it. Her parents were fairly strict folk, like that worked on her, and moved around a lot - chasing every job opportunity possible. As such she had quite a unsettled, but quite a happy, childhood and life afterwards. She has no siblings, and probably no cousins, but has a whole host of nuts great-aunts and uncles (not to mention grandparents~) who she probably inherited her insanity from.

Apep is uncle to Eve and so did have a brother, but killed the bastard for not being Ra (as all totally sane people do~.) His childhood was quite pampered, really - calling his mum mummy/mother and all of that. His father was probably a little neglectful, but apart from that he had a nice time that does not at all excuse his current behaviour.

Gaheris had a less than happy childhood, the poor boy. He had no siblings, his parents split up when he was extremely young. He also spent the first ten years of life with his mother, a general layabout(/drug addict/person with no sense) who did her best to ( ... )

UMMMM I have a lot so I'll make them brief.

Agravaine has both parents and a younger brother. Grew up with two dogs, and one belonged to each kid. His brother was considered the "good son", and Vaine was the one who constantly got into trouble, but he was still protective of his brother. His father was a hardass and pressured him into aiming to become a cop, but it was his good son~ who became the cop instead. His anger problems started developing in middle school but went into full scale RAGE by late high school, and as such instead of being sent to jail, he went to an institution. After that, his relationship with his family wasn't the same again. He doesn't talk to his brother anymore.

Castor (and Pollux) had both parents and spent their childhoods always running away and being... kids. They drove their mother crazy (not literally). Their only sibling was Mordred, who was their brother through their father's first marriage. While not necessarily trouble children, they did have a flair for adventure, more than most children should ( ... )

Hathor had a pretty chill life as a kid. Her mother was eccentric and crazy and amazing, while her father was a bit more quiet. She spent a lot of her childhood in decent neighborhoods, playing with the boys as much as the girls, and definitely spent time with all her cousins, of which she has a lot of. The fact that she was an only child didn't actually bother her. Her father taught her how to do different Latin dances, which she still does in her living room with her boy ( ... )

Agrat had a pretty cool childhood, in her own epic opinion. Her parents were married up until just before she turned fourteen, and she has two older brothers who she's close with - one is an actuary and the other is in the Air Force. She rarely speaks to her mother since her parents' divorced, but she's still daddy's little girl.

Anteros was raised in a rather dysfunctional but loving home. His parents divorced when he was two because his father was an emotionally abusive alcoholic, and his mother remarried shortly after that. He has four older sisters, and a step-sister (Thalia). His relationship with his mother and step-father is quite good, as with all his sisters, but he actually hates his birth father more than words can describe. When they do speak, which is rarely, the man rags on Anteros over his sexuality and lack of manly attributes, and as such Anteros wouldn't be distraught if the man died in a fire.

Baldr had an idyllic childhood. His parents are still ecstatically married and both he and his younger sister are employed ( ... )

Grandmom Duerning is one of those happy all the time does whatever she wants types. She's called 'crazy' because she likes to encourage the grandkids to do things they shouldn't and make big messes. She also dresses like she's a teenager and flirts with anything male.
