Ah yes. And, sadly, this resulted from one of our saner conversations.
Jack and Archie need nominating for hussies of the year. Or having their heads dunked in the fountain by the invisible lift. (You can do the first aid afterwards...)
Jack's referring to the fall of Gondolin, which gets a short mention in both LOTR and The Silmarillion. The longer version is in some of the Christopher Tolkein books. We've assumed jack was Glorfindel (who also appears in LOTR).
I have this awful feeling that Jack would carry on even when Horry stopped making a fuss.
More? It's taken us about a year to produce this. Any more and we'll be locked up. :)
Ah, je vois. I don't have any of his, though I saw them at Borders. I'll have to look them up. Yes, he was the one who took Frodo to Rivendell, wasn't he? I always pictured him as a blond, like Legolas.
Glorfindel is blond (his name translates to something like golden haired) but I think we imagined Jack being Glorfindel, than being a blond Nazi and then dying his hair back to brown again. :)
Books 1 and 12 (from memory) of the Histories of Middle Earth explain it all, if you wanted to know more.
Mmmm, Lancelot is quite the looker, isn't he? I'll use that as justification for letting you slide over insulting my favorite Elf. *laugh* (And I nearly wrote insluting, which suggests I really need to look at my choice in reading materials...)
I love your crazy crossover universes, and Jack totally deserved a soaking. Poor Ianto.
Something about a pretty boy who can't act, I believe. Which is an accusation thrown far more often at a certain Bloom than at, say, a Frodo, though he is also pretty.
I think insluting should be a new verb. As soon as I figure out what it means.
How did I miss this the first time I went through your stories? I still have no idea who any non-Hornblower characters are, but this is lovely all the same. Archie is having too much fun ganging up on poor Horatio, though, the naughty boy. Looking angelic is no excuse!

Precisely!
By the way, I'm in full sympathy with Horatio! Oh, and Ianto! None at all for Jack or Archie, the hussies.

I think Horatio and Ianto secretly like the hussies. Keeps them on their toes. :)
Thanks for reading!

Anyway, I like Jack winding 'Ratio up, but the silly man doesn't know how to stop reacting. If he stops, then Jack will stop. Supposedly.
"Terribly sorry, sir, my hand must have slipped."
Good Ianto! *pets* Remind Jack that he's taken. *smirk*

Insluting means saying someone is a tart.
