Haunted

Ok so.... I just heard footsteps going down the hall upstairs. Again. And I am here all by myself with both dogs next to me on the couch. Downstairs. I seriously think this house is haunted. Now, don't get me wrong. I know that for everything we have experienced there are other explanations. But it sure gets freaky!

ghosts, home

But if I'm going to be on tv, I'd have to clean. :p

Ever think of doing some cleansing ceremony, I usually do one after a nasty break-up to remove any negative energy hanging around. You could use a smudge stick :) or a bell :)

It is a happy house. I'd be afraid of messing with the balance. Know what I mean?

This may or may not be a comfort... my theory on animals looking at things you can't see is that they are hearing a mouse or bug behind the wall/ceiling/whatever.

Could be. Lord knows this house has creatures in it! I have an agreement with them. If I don't see them, I won't kill them. :D

I get it quite frequently in my house (500 yrs old!). I don't mind it now - we have all managed to get along. I estimate there are another 5 to 7 "people" here from different historical periods. Not sure if they all "know" each other but I don't think so.

At night, sometimes I feel like I can hear voices. It is so strange. It's like I can hear it if I am trying not to hear it, but if I actually listen I don't hear it. Not sure if that makes sense. Also, I've never been able to make out any specific words.Perfect sense! It happens to me frequently ( ... )

I admit that I am a bit nervous about being here alone when David is in the US for a couple of weeks. But I'm sure it will be fine. I don't feel afraid or "dark" if that makes sense. Plus, there is no activity (that we have noticed) in the bedroom. It seems to involve the dressing room off of the bedroom and the main bathroom and the hallway. All of the footsteps, noises, knocked over objects etc has happened in this area. And the dogs sit in the doorway of the bedroom and stare into the hallway at nothing. So hopefully that won't happen to me, but I would have been so scared if I were you!

I was to start with by now I feel very comfy here. Very safe. And I think its to with the Others in the house. I feel protected by them.

I wasn't scared as such - just very very cross that they had crossed the line, so to speak. So, I told them off. They know that my bedroom is out of bounds but otherwise they are allowed to remain.

I get objects moved around and given back when I make it clear they need to be returned.

Set the boundaries! Make it clear you are not wanting to remove them but they have respect your space.

Makes perfect sense.
But they usually don't do anything nasty, it's rather as soon they are accepted part of the house (like a beam, or the chimneypiece) they get bored in doing annoying things (like door slamming). I just didn't like the tendency of collecting scissors and after a week of 'I am not that daft, I must have put them somewhere' six scissors (large and small) are piled up on the kitchen table. Yet, I must say, I like their company.
Don't let them mock themselves about you, don't be scared, you'll get used to a wee poltergeist or the wee folk, whoever it is (or RSPK)
It's nothing evil :-)

The other day I had my facial wipes moved and opened. I thought maybe my husband had used one, but he hadn't. It was weird. Maybe they liked the smell? I had them on my vanity in the dressing room (the center of most of the activity). They were moved to a different area of the room.

But I'm not nervous. There is a happy feel in the house. :)
