Haunted

Ok so.... I just heard footsteps going down the hall upstairs. Again. And I am here all by myself with both dogs next to me on the couch. Downstairs. I seriously think this house is haunted. Now, don't get me wrong. I know that for everything we have experienced there are other explanations. But it sure gets freaky!

ghosts, home

I am glad you say it's a happy house. You would most likely *feel* if it were something with bad intent. So talk to the ghosties, I have had great success in the past by treating them with the common courtesy and respect you would show a living person. Introduce and explain yourself. Ask them to please not slam the door.

I've been in houses that just felt wrong. But this house just makes me feel happy. Certain rooms are really happy. In fact, I chose the happiest room to be my sewing room. I just love being in it!

I have a little insomnia so it takes me a bit of time to fall asleep. I usually do a puzzle or something while laying in bed because it helps me. It is usually while I am doing that that I "almost" hear something. Then I will stop and listen and then I never hear anything. As soon as I am not paying attention, I'll hear it again. So weird! It isn't every night. Just once in a while.

It doesn't sound crazy at all to me. Some of my best friend's ancestors still walk about in her great-great-great-grandparent's home. Like Bess, I once had to explain to one of this gentlemen that I would not tolerate male company in my bed other than my husband's...
It might sound really silly, but have you formally introduced yourself to the new house and its "inhabitants" ?
(and I'm kind of jealous bacause although our house clearly is a "happy" house as well and welcomed us with opened arms, no ghosts have ever showed their presence here)
